Another International Break Thread
That time again. Player jet off to various places to play qualifers and friendlies. As usual, we'll be praying that return in one piece.
Belgium: Thomas Vermaelen
September 2nd - Azerbaijan vs Belgium
Thomas Vermaelen was not in the squad for this game.
September 6th - Belgium 1-0 USA
Obviously, Vermaelen did not play in this game.
Cameroon: Alex Song
September 3rd - Cameroon 6-0 Mauritius
Czech Republic: Tomas Rosicky
September 3rd - Scotland 2 - 2 Czech Republic
Tomas Rosicky played the full ninety minutes, playing more as a CM than CAM. He was the main instagtor of any attack Czech Republic made and it was his great pass that resulted in the penalty that levelled the game 2-2.
September 6th - Czech Republic 4-0 Ukraine
Tomas Rosicky missed this game because of a minor injury.
England: Theo Walcott
September 2nd - Bulgaria 0 - 3 England
Theo Walcott played a solid 70 or so minutes, playing a big part in England's third. Missed an excellent opportunity, though.
September 6th - England 1-0 Wales
Theo Walcott missed this game because of a minor hamstring problem. He should be fit for the weekend.
England U21: Henri Lansbury and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
September 1st - England U21 6-0 Azerbaijan U21
Henri Lansbury scored two, including an overhead kick, and assisted twice from corners in a man of the match performance. Chamberlain also got an assist, setting up Lansbury's first with an excellent cross.
September 5th - England U21 4- 1 Isreal U21
Henri Lansbury and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain both came on at half-time and completely changed the game. England were a goal down and not playing well, but Chamberlain provided three assists and won a penalty in a much improved second half. Henri Lansbury scored a well-taken fourth after some excellent work from the Ox. Overall, very impressive work from both players in both games.
France: Laurent Koscielny and Bacary Sagna
September 2nd - Albania 1- 2 France
Koscielny and Sagna were both unused subs.
September 6th - Romania 0-0 France
Bacary Sagna played in this dull draw on an atrocious pitch in Romania.

Re: Another International Break Thread
Albania vs France tomorrow...
Dont know what to do , its three hours away from me.
Clichy and Nasri are gone now... for whom I should be excited? Sorry but only Sagna is not enough.
Maybe Ill go to watch M'Vila and Martin closely, possible targets.

Re: Another International Break Thread
Mertesacker has been benched lately in Germany for Hummels or Badstuber. Maybe playing time at Arsenal will see him get back his spot, but Loew is like a German Wenger when it comes to youth.
Koscielny in France, class. I hope he gets a start and earns his spot.

Re: Another International Break Thread
Twenty-two minutes in and England U21's are 2-0 up. Henri Lansbury set-up the first with an excellent corner, and then scored the second after Chamberlain put in a good cross and Lansbury produced an overheard/bicycle kick.
Lansbury has been runnning the show.

Re: Another International Break Thread
Henri Lansbury scores again. Oxlade-Chamberlain picked up Brigg's overhit cross and stood the ball up, creating all sorts of havoc in the Azerbaijan defence. The ball fell to Lansbury who scored with a deflected shot.
England U21 4 - 0 Azerbaijan U21. Lansbury and Chamberlain very impressive.

Sagna should rest. Réveillère is good enough to play against Albania

England U21 won 6-0. Lansbury with a brace and two assists. Chamberlain also with an assist. Excellent all round displays from both.

We really need to offer Landsbury new contract. He played really good.
Chamberlain was awsome today and he will turn into a great footballer.

Re: Another International Break Thread
So da future of Arsenal is Ramsey, Wilshere, Frimpong, Lansbury, Chamberlain, Miyaichi, Afobe, Miquel. Lookin good. Just imagine if they were all around 25 right now, and we add them all to our current squad. Wow. that team would be un-beatable no doubt. A modern day invincibles i tell ya.

Nice goal, Lansbury, could be a star in 2 years. Chamberlain is star.

Re: Another International Break Thread
Impressive stuff from Lando ... completely over showed Henderson. Why is he not in our bench? Also, Oxlade-Chamberlain is nothing like Walcott. His off the ball movement is far superior. And for someone who looks stocky and built, he is quite agile ...really agile actually. I found a long-ish highlight for you guys (hopefully this isn't a double post tho)

Re: Another International Break Thread
Walcott and Chamberlain are two different players and thus shoudln't be compared: one's a striker and the other is a midfielder.
