I just thought of this while posting in the "So,,,,,,Which players must we sign?" thread a moment ago: with Song and likely Frimpong both going away for the ACoN later this season, Diaby being injury-prone, Djourou having not played as a DM in years, and Coquelin and Eastmond not having much first-team experience, we are looking vulnerable at DM. Maybe Lansbury can play there, but nevertheless we do look vulnerable. I know we have been linked with M'Vila to remedy this, but if we are unsuccessful in our attempts to sign him (if we are in fact trying to sign him), we could just take Denilson back from his loan...

No thanks! I would rather play Wilshere there he has more natural defensive tendencies. To bad he is not a bit taller.

Can Hazard play AM if required as i have noticed you seem to struggle to create without Wilshere and Ramsey has to play deeper which he's not great at....

But a 4-3-3 with Hazard and Gervinho on either wing would be great the only other thing id think you would need is a LB do you know if Wenger will buy one?

Wenger is going back to old school Arsenal style in my opinion. We did not exactly have a platymaken then, and insistently that was when we won everything

I always thought Hazard was a central player and that he was just playing on the left hand side to fit Lille's system, but since I've never seen him play bar one or two games I really don't know if he'd be effective in the centre or not.

In some respects, it'd seem a bit strange to sign Hazard and play him on the wing since this front three of Gervinho, Walcott and van Persie has hardly done much wrong in the two games they've played with each other. There's a lot of potential in that front three.

Maybe we're thinking about moving to a 4-2-4 sort of formation, with Walcott up top with van Persie either along side him or behind him.

Looks similar to the old Pires/Ljungberg/Bergkamp/Henry quartet of old.

I'm just entertaining the posibillity of it happening. I personally don't think there will be a deal for Hazard. If a deal has been agreed then why would it be announced tonight? Why wait?

Also, how late would it be announced? It's nearly half past eight in the UK, so it'd be about half past nine in France. Just all seems a bit weird.

Deals can be announced any time on any day, but from experience clubs generally don't give out announcements during the evening, but during the morning or afternoon.

The reason for this is simply because people don't work all day at football clubs. I'm sure any administrative staff would have gone home by now.

We're not allowed to talk to the player directly unless Lille give us permission to do so, but that doesn't stop agents from talking to other clubs. This is pretty much the norm nowadays. If we had broken some form of law, I'm certain Lille would report us.

As it is, Hazard's agent may have negotiated personal terms with Arsenal on his client's behalf, and Arsenal might have agreed to the term in principle.
