should the EPL get 5 CL spots ?

i hate their league, i hate their football, i hate their media, i even hate the fact that im making this thread, but dont you think this arguement is valid ?

think of it, u've got united, city, chelsea, liverpool, arsenal and tottenham, all CL material, yet 2 of these teams will not make it to the CL, while at the same time some teams participate in the competition just because they happen to be in europe

im not saying the EPL is the best league in the world coz there's so much headless running around that i wanna see, but, well, their top teams are good ATM

I disagree, 4 is already the big maximum, it's even maybe too much. Some people think we should switch back to only having champions fighting in the competition.

I am not for that but putting too much clubs from the same country would ruin the main interest of the competition, putting team from whole Europe against each others.

I like the fact that in both the CL and the EL there are clubs from several European countries battling it out, so I think 5 teams from one country would be too much, 4 is a good maximum.

Depends do we want to see the best football? Or a display of the best teams from "throughout" Europe. It's the same as the world cup though, you have teams like NZ making it(please don't give me they didn't lose etc etc I don't care), when there are many better teams out there that have no chance due to many top NT's in their qualification group.

Honestly what's the point of not doing, a more exciting comp, with better teams is much better, then always seeing united walk through the group stages year after year.

its called champions league for a reason unless u want it to be english champions league.

4 is more than enough for any league no matter how many good teams the league has

the same could be said about the serie a. you have teams like Inter, Milan, Juve, Roma, Napoli, Fiorentina. just watch the Bayern-fiorentina games. also u must remember how Sampdoria, a team now relegated killed a german top team in Werder Bremen.

and no Tottenham, u really think Tottenham is good, what was their result with madrid again?

4 is enough, and makes the league more competitive if their fighting for less CL spots.

if u want more top teams, u should say yes to the EUROPEAN SUPERLEAGUE, wich will only be between the top clubs of Europe. even that would be boring. i mean Man U and Barca Milan Inter etc facing each other each and every year. the games would kinda lose prestige. It would be like making the World CUp every year, it would lose some of it's golden prestige.

I didn't say I don't want them? There is a reason it is the WORLD game. All I said was it is not a true representation of the best in the world. Learn to read?

the same Roma who just got knocked out of Europa league and last time i checked Sampdoria choked in there qualifier against Bremen and then proceeded to sell there top 2 players (Pazzini, Cassano) and then get relegated....

They definitely deserve it, but will not get it.

Yes because having 5 teams amongst 16+ makes it the nationality of those 5 teams. Having more English teams would make it of a higher quality.

series A didnt have 5 spots in 80 s or early 90s either when they were undoubtedly best league in the world and their teams were superior to any other league teams,so why should EPL get it now? its not like best 4 teams in the world are all from EPL.

I think that the Champions League should be limited to EPL teams so that an EPL team will win it every year.

The money that UEFA loses because EPL teams can't win the thing is phenomenal. La Liga and The Serie A have won it 4 times in the past 5 years, this loses UEFA a lot of money.

Another tournament can be created for continental Europe champions.

lol was this a trolling attempt. It would be amazing in one hand, but then unfortunately the level competitiveness would be taken away from the EPL. Teams in the final 3rd of the league year would be complacent an.d settle for that 5th spot

that was exactly what i wanted to say lol! anyway the EPL deff deserves 5 spots but having 4 spots makes it even more competitive

Note: You will see how weak Udinese is when they face Spanish competition in the Europa League.

Liverpool and arsenal are way better than lazio napoli and juventus... i would like to remind u that liverpool last season ( with roy hodgson ) beat napoli 3-1 and napoli wasn't even able to beat us second spurs ... 5th in the EPL beat AC milan 1st in serie a ...

Napoli has strengthened itself considerably since that game and in the game Napoli led until the 71st minute and then it was tied until Liverpool were awarded a penalty kick. There was very little difference in the team's qualities then, and with Napoli's acquisitions they have more quality now.
