Finished Breaking Bad , M99.

fk me Laughing

I really felt for Jesse as the series were nearing it's end. Pure drama was his course. The only positive i can think of from the finale , he finally had freedom. As for Walt , damn. I am not sure i've ever seen a character being so entirely changed from start to coming into his climax . A deserved end? I know for sure i felt sad for him , despite the monster he had turned out to be , or rather , the true Walter ; Heisenberg.

But , they made a huge mistake , imo always , when they showed how Walter was doing in the 1st episode of season 5 , u know with the beard and the hair , his house and the machine gun , e.t.c. That was a bad call imo. Why the hell anybody would like to see that ? Which nuclear scientist convinced them that spoiling the atmosphere of the last episodes in such an emphatic and apocalyptic manner would be a good thing? It took much from the final episodes , because i had already seen the preview! They could have shown something different , again with Walt but something else. That was spoiling , u knew he had lost everything straight away! ( i was pissed off last night for a bit , Laughing)

Other than that . Damn this show was trully great , i can't believe myself i ignored it all this time.

It was kinda obvious that Walt would lose everything in the end even before the flash forward. But still, I see your point. The flash forward was not really necessary.

If you want to start something immediately, then go for True Detective. Fantastic show.

Yes , it was obvious , that's right. It's safe to asume almost everybody guessed that Hank would find out about him , this way or the other , that he would have problems with the DEA and all. Ok.

Obvious is one thing , preview-obvious , how exactly things are going to be , that's another thing entirely! Laughing But oh well. It was so well made , that even then it was just great.

I'll start True Detective soon . thanks again mate

Of course , i am interested! I trust your taste M99 Proud

Though i do have doubts about one thing. What exactly could you throw at me and not look "less" after True Detective and Breaking Bad? Especially Detective , man , can't tell you how much i liked it. It was crime show like i thought it should be ; Intelligent , desperate , pragmatic. I loved every single second about it , wouldn't change a thing.

And Rust man , can't describe how familiar i found him. It's almost sad that i found so many connections with dat character , though i am not into drugs alright Laughing

Anyway , lets hear it . I would like some options , though please , do not mention Walking Dead. It may be good , it may be anything , but zombies bore me to death.

Don't worry I was not going to suggest Walking Dead Laughing

Fargo. It's an ongoing mini series and there is going to be no season 2. It's a black comedy filled with crime and drama. The acting, story and characters are of the highest quality, very unique show.

Band Of Brothers. Another miniseries which is one of the most mesmerising piece of art to ever hit TV. No miniseries has ever topped this for me.

I think you said you watched House Of Cards. If not then watch it.

Sherlock is one of my favourites though not everyone loves it. Modern day version of Sherlock Holmes in London. Once again like Fargo, the acting, stories and characters make the show.

Justified is a bit of a slow burn but once you get hooked to it there is no turning back. It's one of the best out there but it can be a bit too slow paced for some people. The character of Boyd Crowder and the insane dialogue of the show is what makes me love it so much.

I am sure you heard of The Sopranos. One of the greatest shows of all time, this paved the way for shows like Breaking Bad and Justified. There are eight seasons. First ever drama show I ever watched, I only watched comedies before this. Eight seasons so you need time for this.

The Shield. Another one of the most influential and greatest shows of all time. Has one of the best endings ever to a show and the actions of the characters is guaranteed to shock regularly.

Spartacus is the most balls to the walls show I ever saw. Extreme violence and hardcore porn. Sex scenes, orgies, decapitations galore but that's not all. The story and the setting of Ancient Rome and the badass characters shine throughout.

Mad Men. Warning, a lot of people don't like this show and find it boring. There is no action or suspense at all. But the acting, characters, directing, dialogue, authenticity, cinematography and the represenatation of American culture in the 60s are superb. Visual literature it is.

My advice to you is to watch Band Of Brothers and wait for Fargo to end. Then you can blitz through Fargo. With those two out of the way you can watch the eight seasons of The Sopranos in the summer.

Post by Dante Wed May 14, 2014 9:46 pm

Well. I , alzheimer. Wat? I really forget stuff these days , like hours spent , stuff. Gone mad i guess

I've seen all 3 seasons of Sherlock and of course , House of Cards(Mole's indirect suggestion) . I am addicted to both .

I've also seen Spartacus season 1 and 2 . Gannicus my maan Proud. Never found a good reason to see s3. Didn't care.

I've also googled Band of Brothers and. Well , not only i have seen it , but i remember recommending it to everybody ever since i finished it, though it has to be over a year now. So strong and emotional . I recall having plans to watch the Pacific , still haven't seen an episode. (same makers iirc)

Fargo , Justified and the Sopranos seem interesting yes. I will start watching (soon?) at some point , my body isn't ready after True Detective Proud

As for the rest , i will keep them in my list . After these are done. One particular show i've been reading about is The Wire. Not sure i can tell much from a description but , i think it could be my type of show maybe hmm

I don't really like trailers though , so if you know anything.

I suppose am also interested to pretty much everything else HBO has done , lol. Maybe Rome ?

Others have suggested me Lost. When i was a kid i was following the first season , but haven't seen anything after the first episodes . Worth it?

And at some point in high school , i remember a girl i really liked , she was mad about the dude from Prison Break , so i had to watch it too ... Laughing. I kinda liked it back then and i had seen 3 seasons , even though i still haven't seen the last season. I have been tempted from time to time to see the end of it , but still won't.

Anyway , Fargo caught my interest , i will definitely watch it once it's over . Been checking imdb for the past 10 minutes... The Blacklist caught my eye.. do you know anything about it?

The Wire is regarded as one of the best of all time but I found it a bit boring but to be fair I never properly watched it. I got it booked for the summer after exams. Will watch it properly and give it time.

I liked Rome but it got cancelled due to budgetary reasons. You could watch it, it's quite good but imo the others I listed are better.

Thing about Prison Break and Lost (and Dexter) is that not all seasons are good. Prison Break season 1 was amazing, *bleep* amazing but it went downhill after that. I stopped watching after seeing a few episodes of season 3. Same with Lost, it went downhill after season 3 and I only ever saw the finale after the first three seasons. Then there's Dexter which has one bad season in season 3 and two terrible ones in season 6 and season 8 coupled with a god awful ending. Season 1 and Season 4 are masterpieces though and Season 2, 5 and 7 are all great.

Did not watch Blacklist though I heard good things about it. I saw the pilot on TV and liked it but sadly I don'y have enough time these days. Maybe I'll watch in the summer after I'm done with The Wire and Fargo.

Yeah I advise you to watch Fargo now and after it finishes, The Sopranos. Justified is ending next year sould you can start it next year to coincide with the beginning of season 6.

There's a show called Luther. It's a detective/crime show not as good as True Detective but still great in it's own right. It's like Sherlock with three episodes per three seasons. You could watch that.

Dante, I have extremely similar tastes like you, so believe me when I say you must watch the Wire. Absolutely one of the best. Certainly best cop show before True Detective. It is an amazing show that I can't recommend enough.

Its about cops in Baltimore who are trying to take down a gang and their drugs. So it follows both the cops and the gang - the leaders, the kids that get caught up in it, and the junkies they sell the drugs to. Its strength comes in its authenticity. A lot of cops state how the show portrays how it really is on the streets. Definitely should check it out.
