Re: Off-Topic Garden Café
I'm not criticizing anyone or anything, but this thread is getting too football related. This is off topic, things unrelated to football. We can discuss and talk about movies, music, tv shows, gaming, your personal life, sex, women etc. Let's leave the football things out and keep this thread truly off topic.

Yes you are criticizing people and you have every right to do so.milanista99 wrote:I'm not criticizing anyone or anything, but this thread is getting to football related. If we can't complain about what other members do that annoys us, this forum is officially dead.
I had decided to stay quiet about this because there was no serious harm and everybody's free to do anything here, but yeah, I agree that there've been too many Football-related comments here.
To make things a bit clear, though, this thread is an off-Milan thread, not an off-Football one.
Here I have talked about El Classico and Champions League final, and we could even speak about Milan in a non Football way, like in case we've run into a Milan player by accident the other day, or how you've found a Milanista colleague with whom you get on really well, but the goal is to try and talk about everything but Milan.
I request permission to ask people in here: Please, don't mention anything about Milan in a Football-related way, and stay as distant as possible to other Football topics too.
There are numerous threads and the possibility to create as many new ones as we like, so let this pretty little Cafe of ours be the host of relevant issues.

When I was 14 years I lost my virginity, and since that time I have used my dick as a direction stick for "where to go" and now you tell me that it's an overrated activity?IrasMaldinista wrote:I'd like you guys to comment on this, as it's a delicate issue.
It's not a delicate issue, but a normal activity and orchestered by your genetic material in your chemical-factory (your brains)
So nothing special about it and like all animals we are fighting to the death, to get the possibility to mate... the strongest genes wins the battle!
We are designed to behave like that... you too!

OK, OK, I know, I hear you.
It's awesome, it's a pleasant mental, physical, social activity and everything, but is it worth it?
It has provoked kings of the past to ignite wars because of it.
It ruins friendships in many cases nowadays.
It makes two brothers enemies and two sisters hold grudges against each other.
At work, it makes things complicated between colleagues.
At schools and universities it could distract and negatively affect people.
And yet it's somewhat impossible to live without, unless you're Mahatma Gandhi himself.
90% of people would disagree with me on this matter, but that doesn't mean I'll hide my beliefs.
Many might argue that it is controllable, it is manageable etc and that it is necessary and much needed, and I agree, but to what extent?
I'd like you guys to comment on this, as it's a delicate issue.
Almost everything in the world has positive effects and negative effects, sex included. It's all about the person, how he controls and manages his sex life. If he sparks a negative effect caused by sex, it's his fault. He is either greedy, dumb, lustful, has weak self control, plain stupid etc. Sex is awesome, without it none of us would have existed

Re: Off-Topic Garden Café
As a guy, people just ASSUME "get sex, get it soon"
And i'm not some Christian hardcore believer in marriage before sex that'll push it in your face
In fact, Religion of any kind has never really appealed to me or interested me
But I believe that sex is very special thing and of course, there will be virgins on this forum which is completely fine and something you should be proud of. It's like what Iras said, sex can have many negative effects with it.
It should be shared with the one you love because at the end of the day,
at the end of your life,
as a married man/woman,
and you'll regret that your first time was a drunken one nighter at a party or maybe even with a prostitute. People may chuckle when they read this but in truth, it happens. alot.
anyway
thats my two cents

Re: Off-Topic Garden Café
Tonight, I mean since last night until now, 7:34 AM, I realized why I was in love with my previous lifestyle.
I watched "Full Metal Jacket" (1987), Stanley Kubrick's masterwork about Vietnam.
I watched the majestic "True Grit" (2010), Coen brothers' latest project, which is obviously the remake of the 1950s movie in which legendary John Wayne finally scored his Oscar.
And at last, I re-watched "Intolerable Cruelty" (2004) also by Coen Brothers, which made me laugh to choke at times.
All these in a matter of 10 hours and I feel like I'M BACK!
But despite the fact that movies, per se, make me happy and relieve my mind, it was not the movies that really made my night.
In fact, I realized that what made my night, was the very night itself.
Since I was 17, I used to stay up all night, all the way to 7 or 8 in the morning and I could and would do everything that I liked on my own, like I was the only living person on the face of earth.
But what did exactly tonight's experience remind me of? What kind of moments did I experience?
I remembered that what made my nights ever more special were those moments that I paused my movies or finished them to eat/drink/do something, those moments that I stared at an unknown point and think. Just think and nothing else.
My best moments in life have always been those that I experienced on the sofa, in the table, on my beloved old bed, all alone and in peace, thinking, sometimes daydreaming if you will.
It could piss off my girl, my parents, my bro or my buddies just hearing that, but that's the truth, sorry mama!
Since I was offered this freaking job and all this university and stuff, life cruel side has left me no space to breathe, I haven't had the chance to stay up the night (at least not regularly) and reflect upon what I went through during yesterday, last week, last month... my whole meaningless life.
But tonight I did that and it was like a totally new experience.
I wish to have more like this and I wish for them to give me the same joy they've been giving for the last four years.
Maybe something came out of them, something good, something useful.
Hey, I'd lovvvvve to know about the moments you guys are peacefully on your own, be it day or night... SHARE!!!

Re: Off-Topic Garden Café
Yes, I'm back guys lol.......Thanks.
Has anyone noticed or is it just me, that since maybe the past few years, that movies don't seem to have the same effect as they once did?
I mean, since torrents have become quite common for people to use?
Apart form Superhero movies these days not much else seems to come and some Graphic enchanced mega money movies, the art of story telling is dying?
It makes me quite sad, as I do really enjoy to watch good movies.
More of an independant movie watcher myself intead of the big budgeted ones, but they seem to more difficult to get hold of these days.
My friend and I had a chat about this and his theory is that Television is now taking over and becoming a more popular medium for viewers and in some ways i am compelled to agree with him.
What do you think about this?

Well, the Irish are in a league of their own! Such a nice culture and history!
Anyway.
I've never agreed to what you stated at the beginning of your posts.
There are lots of people who since watching the mighty "Apocalypse Now" consider every war movie pure crap.
Well, that's not right and that's cruel.
"Saving Private Ryan", "Platoon", "Full Metal Jacket" and recently "Letters From Iwojima" and "Hurt Locker" are awesome examples to show us e.g. war genre isn't dead and still has a lot to offer.
The number of horseshit movies (specially franchises) like "Transformers", "Transporter", "Twilight Saga", "Highschool Musical", "Step Up" and many more that you know better are released day-in and day-out to ruin the reputation of cinema, but then, we got a lot of good stuff out there too.
Take 2010 as a small example.
"Black Swan", "True Grit", "Social Network", "Inception" and "Shutter Island" were truly superb movies that I hadn't seen anything alike for years, and these IMO promise the art is not dead.
Yep, the good-movies/year ratio might have witnessed a decrease, but one can't expect two "Forrest Gump"s every year, right?
As for TV, please.
These series are killing me.
They totally deny you the opportunity to allocate your precious time to precious motion pictures, and as much as they offer admittedly gripping action, suspense and excitement, their dearth of character and visual artistry is painful to watch.
How many "Dexters" and "24"s can you watch before they end? I mean the whole series stuff?
They produce more and more every year and there' no stopping them, we can't surrender and prefer action over meaning, can we?
I will be terrorized for talking like this about TV shows, but come on man, two-hour movies are far greater in efficiency compared to their two-hundred-hour TV rivals!
Welcome back second-home Micky and thanx a bunch for re-bringing this up, I needed to take things off my chest.

Hey IRAS as passionate as ever my Iranian Rebel!
It's funny as you have mentioned Movies of 2010 and apart from Black Swan and Inception I did not care for the rest, now that's just me persoanlly.
Take Inceptions director Christopher Nolan, a f%^&%ing genius who could be the person responsible for changing cinema forever with his vision.
I normally go for low budget movies that has a story, and because of the Torrents scence, there doesn't seem to be any budgets for these movies.
I completely respect your descion and your fire when mentioning this, but i have enjoyed a couple of televsion shows, most notably the Sopranos were it delves into the life of the crme boss Tony Sopranos and looks at things from his perspective. Things like that you don't get in a movie, unless offcourse you read the book before to feel what he's truelt thinking.
I also just finished reading the "A song of fire and Ice" and then was glad it was made into a TV series and not a Movie as it is quite complicated and would have felt that a movie would have ruined it?
I honestly have to say that in the past year i haven't seen something that has truely blown me away
