Re: Time for Wenger to step down...
ThinK about it this way, will anyother coach be able to win anything with this Arsenal team, and the current players/.
It's not that AW is bad tactically, he won many trophies when he had the right squad, his problem is signing new players that are ready to fit directly into the system immediately.
The last thing Arsenal want is to have AW as sporting director and having problems with a new coach over signing new players. What makes you think he will change his views and actually listen to the new coach and understand his needs?
The best options the way I see it is either he becomes in charge of Arsenals' youth accademy and leaves the first team for someone else, or just sack him. That is if Arsenal fans are really fed up with the situation.

I agree with this 100%. There team just isn't good enough. There fans overhype there players and in turn it puts pressure on everyone. If anything, they have been overachieving with there injuries and lack of true superstars in there team.
Also, the money excuse is BS, there are plenty of teams in Europe (Valencia, Sevilla, Villareal, Porto) that have less of a budget and still finish near the top of there league's almost every year.
I mean if they took the money they spent on attacking talent and bought some quality defenders then they would not have to have these issues.
They have a decent youth program so instead of spending 20- 30 mil on 3 good players with potential and instead buy 1 world class player every offseason and mix that in with the youth team then they would be a much better team.
You can't blame there players for wanting to leave especially when they see the commitment of other teams to win compared to what they are doing, and also when they leave they usually get a pay raise too.

valencia, 3rd, finished 25 points away from the top of the league last year. Year before that, valencia again who came 3rd in la liga finished 27 points away from the top of their league. Not even worth talking about Sevilla lol
so that point is completely invalid.

Oh is it really? How many times do I have to crush you on here before you will learn to stay away?? It's not like Arsenal were serious contenders to win there league no matter how many points closer they were. IT's just another crutch Arsenal fans use.
Also Since Arsenal's last trophy Sevilla has won, 2006 uefa cup, 2006 supercup beating Barca( guess who Baca beat to get into that game that same year????), 2007 uefa cup, 2007 copa del rey, 2010 copa del rey.

I think Wenger has done enough for the club.. to the point that he will step down only when he has that feeling that he should.

Do you really think its Wengers fault? Or its the board who don't allocate transfer founds ?
He turns youngsters into great players .....and every season top 4 ....maybe I am misinformed but I think he is operating on small budget ..

Wenger would have been fired long ago if he were in any other club in any league. Ambramovic fired Ancelloti although Chelsea came in second place and he, Abramovic, sold 6 good players and bought none until Torres in January.

Agreed, however Ancelotti wanted to leave.

Re: Time for Wenger to step down...
First and foremost, Wenger won't step down until his contract expires. He has always honoured the contracts given to him and him stepping down before his current deal is finished would betray one of his key principles.
But when that time comes, it's still uncertain as to what will happen. Will he step down? Will he want to continue on but not be given the opportunity to do so? Will he be miraculously sacked before then? Nobody can say for sure.
One thing I'm relatively certain of is that the day he stops managing Arsenal is the day he stops managing altogether. He won't go to Real Madrid. The reason he turned them down before is because he knew he wouldn't have full control like he does at Arsenal and that's not something he agrees with.
It's hard to see him taking on another project after spending so long with us.

Re: Time for Wenger to step down...
People who don't see it's Arsene's fault are 100% delusional in my eyes. They play such a great brand of football but they are so mentally fragile, it's embarrassing. He fails every single year to make that key singing or two that will push them over the edge. From pretenders to contenders.
When you have kids in your team, you undoubtedly need someone or a few someones older who have the experience to guide everyone else through. To lead... yet, Fabregas at 24 years old is their captain. That says it all really. You really think these 20 something year olds choke by chance? They don't... they don't understand how to do what's necessary to win. And that's not opinion, they've proven that for how many years running now? It's always the same mindless playing whether or not they have a lead. Arsenal will over commit with 1 minute left in a game. They're UTTERLY clueless - deep down even their own fans know it. If that's not the coaches fault, whose fault is it?
Sorry, he may be great at discovering talent but he's simply awful at doing what's needed to make a championship squad.
He's been making Fergie's job easier for years now.

RVP is 27 , and Arsha is 30, they guide us. Unless you want us to sign someone 30 years old + idk what your getting at. So what Fabregas is 24 and our captain? Meet Tony Adams

Yeah, and meet no trophies. But whatever, you lot seem content with it, so... enjoy.
Loser mentality. Truth.
Think about Manchester United putting up with your record over the last 6 years. Hilarious, huh?

Re: Time for Wenger to step down...
Well I do agree with many that arsenal indeed needs a better captain, a leader who could guide the team in tough games. I don't think Fabregas is the right person for the job and now that he seems to be leaving I hope you find that person.

Re: Time for Wenger to step down...
I had another thread about experience and field control after a lead. Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid are in the Arsenal category but they know how to behave after a 2 goals + lead.Vapotrini wrote:ali8775 wrote:So what Fabregas is 24 and our captain? Meet Tony Adams

Experience is important but the coach has to instill the tactics early enough and all the players have to show the needed work ethic

Exactly! Yet year after year they keep making the same "championship" (IE: Stupid second rate) mistakes and are forgiven for it. After a while it needs to hit home, it's bad coaching. Who else can be to blame???

Finally, someone who understands my point. I mean every second division team in Germany or Italy knows what to do when they're leading or a man up, it's the basicsVapotrini wrote:babun1024 wrote:I had another thread about experience and field control after a lead.
