What to do with Wenger?
Time for Wenger to step down...
Wenger didn't win anything for a long time, now. His team is getting worse because even his players are losing faith in him, integral players want to leave. There're also some basic problem like controlling the pace of the game after you lead by 2+ goals etc.
Every 2nd division team in Germany or Italy know how to behave after a lead but a top team like Arsenal aren't able to.
The most famous games were the CL quarter final against Livepool when they lost at the last moment a 2 goal lead or countless times last year.
Wenger doesn't strengthen the defense properly as he should and his team still doesn't know how to park the bus... Don't come with the philosophy crap, even Farca do! :lol!:
I think it's time for him to step down as a coach a take the role of a sporting directer or someone who is responsible for scouting/ transfers. He is more of a manager than a coach. A proper coach should be hired who is hungry for titles and is willing to do anything for it

But according to a few Arsenal fans, Fabregas is the second best after Xavi in dictating tempo!

Re: Time for Wenger to step down...
You can't just fire him after so many years of service. I think the top guys of arsenal like him because he doesn't spend as much as other top clubs, and still ends up in the top 4.
I would fire him though, he is like bob bradely's brother LOL.

Re: Time for Wenger to step down...
I don't think it's Wenger's fault. First, Emirates was built and there was no money left. A few years later, the recession hit.
He is trying to keep the elite status without the elite budget. Until Arsenal can spend and play players like the top clubs, they're pretenders. Plain and simple.
Wenger has actually been a genius to keep the club contending. I don't like his defensive philosophy... but that's about the only criticism i have for him. By biggest criticism is for the Arsenal boards.

He is making the board money, ending the year with a 100+mil balance they would never accept his resignation.

Wenger, when you consider all qualities, is a top 5 manager in the world in my book.

Re: Time for Wenger to step down...
I hear the excuse pretty often.A Manager has to take risks. If you don't win anything for long, you earn less, first problem. Problems with defense are of notorical nature. He instilled them into the team and when he makes transfers , he doesn't strenghten the defense as any sane club would do ( still better than Bayern though)sportsczy wrote:I don't think it's Wenger's fault. Status quo is no solution in the long run, we'll see

Re: Time for Wenger to step down...
He frustrates me every season. Seems to always leave a glaring weakness every year. This year it's a lack of left back.
The team plays very well for such a "cheap" team, but he needs to instill discipline and maybe be a little more direct. When we play bad, we play bad.
The board could also let loose some cash... but they are mostly greedy bastards.

Re: Time for Wenger to step down...
Cesc is WC... no doubt. You don't find mids that can dictate tempo easily in this era. He's pretty unique in that way. But he needs to get over his Barca fetish lol.

Re: Time for Wenger to step down...
Arsenal's attack is so good, there is nothing new Wenger needs to do there.
All Wenger has to do is instill some discipline into his players so that they do not lose concentration and get one quality defender who can lead at the back.
If he does not do it this season, he has to go.
He should try to improve his players' fitness as well. But Arsenal has so much depth in attack, it is not that important!

Re: Time for Wenger to step down...
He's a top manager and I think he will remain that way. He needs to make the team a bit more direct and improve the discipline and a few other aspects of the team. Other than that, there's not much else to do, the rest falls on the players' shoulders.
I think Arsenal will break into the top 2 this season.

Manu, Chelsea, Man Sh!tty and then Arsenal vs. Spuds vs. Liverpool. Beware Liverpool, I'd say. The 4th place finish could turn useless as well if Udinese manages to sneak a win past Arsenal. They aren't a joke sideimalegend wrote:babun1024 wrote:That day is near then, I see Man Sh!tty very strong in EPlmilanista99 wrote:The day Arsenal will finish outside the Top 4 will be the day Wenger bows out.

Man C is still a unreliable team... they are going through internal conflict in there team....with few players openly saying they hate Manici way....and with players like Tevez and Balloleti....a team meltdown could happen any moment....
