Wilshere on Twitter: Ankle scan just showed some inflammation. Hopefully will settle down in a few days.

At Member's Day:

Samir Nasri, Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere were also there. The Frenchman entered the pitch at the start of the session and then promptly returned to the dressing room because of a minor ankle injury. Wilshere wasn't involved with training either as he recovers from his own ankle problem picked up at the Emirates Cup. Walcott continued his rehabilitation with some running exercises in front of the Clock End alongside fitness coach Tony Colbert.

“Nasri has a muscular problem. Cesc is just coming back from injury and he is not ready to play in the game. Diaby is out and Koscielny has a small muscular problem.

I'm willing to bet Wenger is playing up the injuries so his players don't go on international duty. It's a pretty common ploy, nowadays.

If it is a ploy, I really do wonder how Wenger convinces these guys not go on international duty.

It might be a friendly, but I'm sure most of these guys would still like a cap.

The players probably do have knocks and tweaks. Wenger likes to use science and statistics to prove his point. Like with Wilshere in the summer; he desperately wanted to play for the U21's but Wenger managed to convince him with stats proving he was close to injury.

But this is Arsenal and we probably do have six players missing through injury.

Was Gibbs called upto the England team?

I mean if he wasn't, I would be surprised if Gibbs was genuinely injured.

It seems Wenger will be giving injury news to Arsenal.com on Thursdays again this season.

In this case, 1 more day until we get the team news.

The team news for the Newcastle game is the most unpredictable team news in recent memory.

If we have one too many injuries, it might work in our favour if the Newcaslte game gets postponed due to the riots.

The Times newspaper reporting that Jack Wilshere is out of both the Newcastle and the 1st leg Udinese game.

So potential team for Newcastle:

Szczesny

Sagna --- Koscielny --- Vermaelen --- Traore

Song --- Ramsey

Walcott --- Rosicky --- Gervinho

van Persie

Doesn't look too bad, I guess.

Nasri on the left for sure. Fabregas on the bench, expect him to start vs liverpool. And yes, neither are leaving.

there will be minor tweaks i suppose. At home we can afford to put out a bit weaker team. Maybe the likes of Ryo or Chamberlain.

but the real problem will be away leg, and we will have Liverpool before that match and man utd after that

Van Persie is suspended for the first leg, so I guess we'll see Chamakh. But then, if Bendtner is still here I'd rather play him.

Wilshere likely to be unfit for that one, too. Gibbs will probably be back.

Only change I can imagine would be Gibbs in for Traore and Chamakh in for van Persie.

Lets not underestimate the games at home. Remember, we had problems winning games at our own grounds last season. Hopefully the new additions to the squads will help with that
