Juventus announce 23,000 season tickets sold for 2011-12 campaign
The Old Lady have struggled to fill their stadium in recent seasons
but recent figures show a marked improved on last season's total
The announcement will prove welcome among the
hierarchy at the Turin giants, as just 14,600 season tickets were sold
in 2010-11, as the club finished in 7th place in Serie A.
Their newly-revamped stadium, the Juventus
Arena, has a capacity of 41,000 and was built on the site of the team's
previous home, the Stadio delle Alpi.
Since suffering relegation
to Serie B in 2006 as a result of their participation in the Calciopoli
scandal, Juventus have struggled to maintain a consistent attendance,
but the arrival of coach Antonio Conte has provoked enthusiasm in the
region, as the club look to once again challenge for major honours.
Juve open their league campaign away to Udinese on August 28 with their first home fixture on September 11 against Parma.
