Mclean was only about £500k
We still havnt spent that much actually considering the amount of players we brought in.

Thanks for the interview.
Hope we sign Bellamy, he isn't getting played at Man City and we need to sign someone who can play on the left wing

not a loss really tbh, hopefully they will be paying his wages
no doubt he will go play for northern Ireland then end up injured for 5 months.

Re: Sunderland AFC
Apparently we are trying to sign Patrick Helmnes from Wolfsburg
He hasn't been there very long but they would be willing to sell so they can sign Papis Cisse.
Thats what a so called ITK on the SMB reckons anyway.
Would be a very good singing and a move closer to replacing Bent.
It was well known we had allot of scouts out in Germany this season, so I expected us signing one or 2 players from the Bundisliga. I have to say I have been expecting a move like this from us. Last couple of seasons Bruce has pulled off a transfer that no 1 expected or talked about until it was done.

He has a good scoring record in the Bundesliga. Also, he has already scored twice this season for Wolfsburg.

Pleased with the result. We were lucky that Richardson didn't get sent off and Suarez missed that penalty. Larsson's goal was a cracker, one to watch on Match of the day tonight.

Re: Sunderland AFC
Didn't play particularly well in the first half.
But we showed allot of promise in the second, Sebs goal was quality and his distribution of the ball is superb.
Biggest surprised for me was Wes Brown, looked so composed on the ball and had a stormer of a game. Man of the match for me.
I still think we are lacking upfront though.

Re: Sunderland AFC
Sunderland played a good game, especially in the second half they won most of the 50/50s. Think Cattermole is still nuts and could get them into trouble with his rashness...Brown had a great game, but Dowd was very kind with him in every 50/50

Re: Sunderland AFC
Actually I think Anton deserves some credit aswell. He had a nice neat game, made some decent important clearances and didn't make any mistakes.
Maybe Brown is the player he needs to play along side to get the best out of him.

Brown and Ferdinand were solid yesterday and I think Bardsley played rather well too. We still have Turner who I think is quite a good defender and Bramble for back up.

I'm still dissapointed we didn't get the result. But what do you do... kudos to you guys for fighting back in the 2nd half. Not hard to do when you're at Anfield.
That Colback fellow looks good though. Took a more central role though, thought he was going to be Henderson's replacement?

No, Colback and Henderson are different players. Colback likes to play in a more defensive role as he is very good at tackling. Henderson is very good at creating chances and at Sunderland he was usually played further up the pitch than Colback. Think Gardner is our replacement for Henderson.

Re: Sunderland AFC
Colback can play on the wing, but as more of an out and our winger, he played tehre during some of pre season.
But I think with his defensive capabilities he offers more to a centre midfield role, he has allot more to his game than Henderson.
Not sure if he will play next week
But we know how dirty Barton, Tiote & Taylor are so might be a bit too much for him.
David Mayler is back in training so maybe he could feature and would suit the game better. Although might be a bit soon for him.

ESPN reporting Kranjcar to be close to a Sunderland move.
I rate him highly, would be a very fine addition for the Black Cats. There could be a surprising team being in the making in Sunderland.
