Liverpool v Sunderland // Sat 13 August // Pre-match

It's upon us, fellow LFC maniacs (and Mole who's got a secret crush on us and still fantasies about Carroll), it's finally upon us!

Luckily only the Tottenham v Everton game got postponed because of the riots in England and we are due to open our season with a home game against the Black Cats at 3pm GMT this Saturday!

Will be interesting to see our starting XI, to say the least, and find out where we seem to be after the off-season and signing a few new players. Which eleven players do you think will start for us?
As far as I know, we've got Skrtel and Johnson sidelined for this game in addition to Gerrard. Suarez might not be considered ready to start after his late return from South America.

Though there are some missing injured players. . I really think there are going to be goals for us in this game! ! hugely due to the reinforcements we have made! ! Hoping to see Adam, Hendo & Downing all in full throttle for the first time! !

Given injuries and (lack of) fitness with some of the regular starters, I think:

seems to be the likely line up if the last two friendlies were anything to go by. Though I wouldn't be at all surprised if Kuyt started in place of Henderson or Aquilani. Huge improvement over what we saw last season during the injury spells. Let's hope Agger and Aurelio can last an entire 90+ minutes without getting injured.

Uhhhh we're 8-1-1 against you in our last ten meetings... you had to go back to 2002 to talk about one of your good results... I don't think that record implies "played decent"

Playing decent doesn't mean you have to win.
For example, we lost to you 1-0 in 2008-09 but the team played well together.

Red, your line-up looks like the most likely scenario for tomorrow.

I'm so excited for the start of the season. I doubt Suarez will start. Everything said so far suggests he will be given rest at the beginning of the season, seeing as he has had a game packed summer.

I do predict a win. Henderson seemed to be a big part of Sunderland. Not sure how they've performed without him, but should be interesting.

Hoping for a win.

Rumors doing the rounds on twitter that Aquilani isnt part of the squad for tomorrow and Aurelio is again injured.
