I've seen it in enough games that imhave to ask... Why is RVP shooting the corner kicks? Wouldn't you want him in the box given he's pretty good in the air? Strange.

VP's set pieces are orgasmic.

Apart from that, we don't have any decent set piece takers apart from Nasri and Arshavin. From that angle, it favors a left footer also.
