Debate: Busquets outside Barca as physical DM. Still a world class player?

How will he do? I have doubts him succeeding in more physical league like EPL, Serie A or Bundes. A lone DM...getting raped)) Or not?

Lucas isnt a physical DM, yet is very successful in the EPL, cambiasso in Serie A, or guys like Luiz gustavo, a bit of a silly argument imo.

He isnt a destroyer, he is a different kind of DM, and there is no reason why he wouldnt succeed somewhere else

Technically he's great, positioning almost perfect, passing is pretty sweet, not bad in the air... but he lacks that aggression and the physical aspects to be that lone midfield destroyer in the classical sence.

Most teams play with 2 or 3 DMs nowadays, though, so...

He'd be great at Arsenal or any other Liga team. I don't see him in Chelsea or Inter.

one thing ive noticed about him though is that every time he gets out muscled he falls down/dives,so he automatically stops attacks like that....

Why would you have doubts about him doing well in "physical leagues" like EPL, Serie A or Bundesliga when he plays all their best teams in the CL and does the exact same things he does in La Liga?

The thing is, in Barca everyone works their socks off. Something you don't find in many teams. His skills would be put to waste, too, with nowadays the norm being counter attacking football and not possession.

busquets is a DM, but he doesnt have to be physical to be good. i dont see cambiasso outmuscling people and kicking. It's time to come to the realization that there are different kinds of DM maybe. If you want a destroyer, it's a good idea not to buy busquets maybe

For DMS i think it is necessary to have some physicality,but that just my opinion.

DM is DM. Strong player with physical attributes. Otherwise it makes him a CM.

He has played for 3 years for Barca.......how much more proof against "defensive teams" do you want lol

This physical crap is rubbish.

In football, teams intercept passes almost twice as much as they make successful tackles. Simply put, reading and intercepting passes is more important then tackling.

Its only logical, teams pass the ball more times per game then they dribble, especially in center-midfield.

So, Busi, who is one of the very best at reading and intercepting passes, is outstanding as a DM.

This "falling over like a little girl" rubbish is just that, rubbish. It doesnt impact his ability as a DM at all. People just want a rough, tough, rugged DM and think thats the only way they can play. Maybe you personally have seen Gattuso for years and think thats the best/only way to go about the job. I dont know.

Busquets diving makes him the 3rd most fouled player in the CL last season, that is only a plus for us.

Busquets would be a world class player in whichever league he plays.May not be defined as a destroyer when he plays but a midfielder dont need to be a destroyer too succeed in any league.
