I have to admit I've never even heard of him until a month ago, this kid just came out of nowhere and is bossing around. I've seen someone say that by the year 2030 he won't even turn 23? Ridiculous.

Enlighten us Barca fans. How come no one called him the next Messi yet

We'll see, La Masia tends to overhype themselves a bit. like we saw what happened to Ansu Fati, at some point he was considered more talented that Vinicius. Laughing

Be careful because Madrid fans will come and scold you. We have nothing and the academy produces nothing!

but he is better than Arda guler, yes.

I've heard his name mentioned several times over the past 2 years.. in the context of him bossing in the academy for some time (against older peers)

Amazing dribbler and most importantly his decision making is off the charts at such a young age, which is the most difficult thing in football probably that separates average/good from WC players. Day and night compared to Dembele

Nobody hyped up Garcia what are you on about.. Moriba, puig..lol. Lee Seung-woo never even debuted with first team, good shout tho Laughing

Yamal needs to perform in first team for at least a full season and keep up, otherwise he'll go out on loan and be forgotten about

There won't be a next Messi because he is out of this world, maybe in the next century

Why Guler, he's not a Real Madrid product.

If we're having this discussion, I think Nacho, Carvajal, Lucas, Fran, and Valverde are youth products Valverde was maybe even adopted, not raised by Real, not sure. Think he was bought from Uruguay.

Strange how a club like Real Madrid produces almost exclusively fullbacks.

Tbh, Im starting to get excited by Yamal as well, n I am surely one of the more pessimistic cules when it comes to young promising La Masia products Razz Reason being his age n performance n most importantly end product looks much better than others I have seen in yrs.

But as we all know, there has been too many over hyped failures over the yrs, so I think as time passes the hypes have eased with each one Razz Pedri n Gavi definitely proving successful out of the many... Considering overall I think the chances of producing successful players good enough to start for us is still decent. But as always there is one huge problem with La Masia products - physicality. With football these days these kids will always struggle with this aspect of the game when playing vs top opponents, just the way it is since Barca dont seem to change n continue to focus on midgets who are able to play ball over everything else Razz

Yamal's still so young n wont be a consistent starter for us until he builds up his physicality more, but otherwise hes a very exciting player n prolly will at least be a very useful player for us this season from the bench.

He didn't play good. The goal was the highlight of his cameo actually. Looks better for Barca.

Yeah he looked nervous out there, but normally 16 year olds dont debut with senior NT. I think Gavi was 17 when he debuted so Yamal broke the record by about a year Shocked

Yh Nico is destined for big things. Not sure he has the balls to leave that place though. Inaki had plenty of chances to leave before he stagnated. Nico needs to move up a level to fullfill his potential.

Yeah, both of them look like they have bright futures, but I’m not sold on the nino yet. That goal was due to Nico, good finish, but it was put there by Nico.

Overall, for once we had decent forwards. All 6 of them played well and there was good setups and passing amongst them and with Ruiz. Sure it was a poor opposition, but in the past that would have been a 2 or 3 nothing game. And the rain probably cost some goals as well.

Already looking like a boss for Spain. Not much of an opposition but great stuff.

I think he's more direct and brave for Barca. His strenghts seem dribbling, shots from distance but also throughballs and decision making. The last one being probably the most important trait for a footballer which makes me hopeful in terms of his progression

In his youth career at La Masia, his goalscoring record is 357 in 249 games.

If he can bring the goalscoring game to his senior career, he will be scary.

I lost count but apart from that one goal for Spain, in the last few games he has hit the woodwork about 6 times or so, so kinda been unlucky. His shots are always dangerous though

Chavi already seems to trust him more than Raphinha hmm

You guys keep raving about Yamal! I agree he was impressive esp for his age, but to me the standout player was Nico Williams. He made some thing happen every time he got the ball. And in addition to his dribling, ball movement, shots and goal, his passes were sublime , as evident in 3 times he put the ball directly to the goal scorer with them having nothing to do but kick the ball into open net.

I'm cautiously optimistic about both talents, and Nico is indeed a more rounded player but he is 5 years older! 5!!
