Raphaël Guerreiro Hype Thread
Just 22 year old, having already been one of the standout players at he Euros, he's now tearing it up at BVB.
Thought to have been bought as competition/upgrade on Schmelzer, he's now deployed by Tuchel in CM, to the left ahead of Weigl.
One goal one assist in the first CL league game, a goal and 2 assists against Wolfsburg, another goal today.
He's composed, can dribble, great vision, incisive passer, good decision making. He's filling the void left by Gündogan as if it was his natural position. His excellent free kick taking is a bonus on top.
Might turn out the greatest transfer of this summer, even ahead of Dembele who is stunning in his own right..

So all the Portuguese players we all thought made up a scrub team are actually legit?
Joao Mario is looking excellent at Inter too.

I must honestly say that these two performed, in my opinion, the best for Portugal anyway, so that wouldn't be a contradiction yet. Guerreiro was consistently good, and Joao Mario was outstanding in the final.
Players like Gomes looked terrible, in comparison.
RENATO is still incredibly raw, after his 2 great games at the Euros he was actually pretty bad in the semi and final, and also at Bayern.

It's no wonder Kloppo wasn't content with any other mediocre left back like Hector for Liverpool, after missing out on Guerreiro.
This must hurt.

Inter didn't listen, and they're still stuck with Nagatomo .

Thought this was obvious when Ronaldo went off and they still won the game lol. We all joke around but a scrub team wouldn't be able to do such a thing.

On the other hand, Guerreiro isn't stuck at Inter now.

Re: Raphaël Guerreiro Hype Thread
They would if the other team wasn't coming off of a game 2 days earlier against Germany NT. All of the players were dead on their feet come the second half of the final against Portugal (that France dominated in any case).
Always said even before the semis against Germany... the Germany/France winner was going to get screwed in the final and would need to score in the first half in that game to win the tournament. You just can't recover in 48 hours from any game, let alone that kind of matchup.
Another example of fine planning by UEFA.

excuse
1.seek to lessen the blame attaching to (a fault or offence); try to justify.

Germany would never have lost against Portugal. No way. Embarrassing from France tbh.

Re: Raphaël Guerreiro Hype Thread
Borussia Dortmund got the tie yesterday because of that foul made by Guerrero on Modric, it was a perfect counterattack and imo a sure goal (it'd be 1-3) . Cynical , not the most beautiful thing you can admire on a football pitch, but really an intelligent and effective yellow card.
Shame Ansaldi plays 10 matches every year (:
