Bilbao v Barca game ends in a draw
Can live with that
But my God how boring was this game. It wasn't the usual Bilbao who must've felt the fatigue after the midweek game.

Other refs are commenting on the awful call at end of Valencia - RMad game. They are saying it was a horrendous call and he obvious made an error and even worse for a ref with 11 years of experience. Apparently the call will be discussed at something called CTA on Friday.

Why does it always have to end up in total chaos at Mestalla. It was very entertaining game though

Re: La Liga 2023/24
It's not an error in the sense that extra time is completely at the discretion of the referee. No matter what happens, he said 7 minutes of extra time and he can whistle any time he wishes after the 7 min mark.
What he's done is break the unwritten code of refereeing that is to let the play finish before whistling. Also, there was a VAR check so it should have been 9 mins really but that's up to him to add it.
Regardless, it's not an error but a lack of judgment in the spirit of the game. Hard to explain.

That's how I saw his decision as well tbh. Shit, he did the exact same thing to Valencia at the end of the first half with the obvious difference being Jude scored.
Alas, I really cannot believe this match of the weekend for La Liga was Getafe-Las Palmas. Also, glad to see you guys still being awesome.

An unprecedented referre decision by Gil Manzano stopped Real Madrid's win against Valencia in Mestalla.
With 2-2 on the scoreboard and in the last play of the match, Brahim crossed and Bellingham made it 2-3.
But the referee annulled… pic.twitter.com/frcz6jgvh1
It'll be a miracle if we win this league. We've declared war with the referees and Tebas.
Real fan trying to make it look like this will be a hard won league title? Loool
But just finished watching, it was pretty incredible decision, I guess he thought he gave enough added time already n never thought once he blew the cross would end up in another Bellingham winner
But yea, Real fans thinking Flo n the refs arent in bed is so funny. Rodrygo no punishment at all for the barge into Gaya off the ball was just another example of Real getting away with things every game.

Actually wonder why Mendy tends to be the starting LB still for Real? Are u Real fans actually happy with him? I thought he was good at one point, but seems like every match a see him make a huge mistake... solid n strong overall but prolly not good enough to be a Real LB imho? Is this why ur going for Davies?

If barca had to print an official statement every time they get fucked over they'd have no ink and paper left for 100 years.
Also stating that the ball was in the air when the whistle blew is kind of misleading, actually the videos show the whistle doesnt come mid-flight as they're trying to paint it. Did papa write this himself?
Manzano whistle in a similar manner for the 1st half when Valencia was midway through their attack so I guess this is just what this ref does

Real fans will never admit ref favours, nothing new, n complain n accuse us whenever there is a call against them, etc.
Meanwhile Girona lost again so Real are 7 points clear already, n we are just one point behind even having just drawn lol... glad to know even in our state, the league might be too weak for us to ever miss out on top 4?

Re: La Liga 2023/24
Sometimes calls favor us, other times they screw us over. I don’t doubt that we tend to get more favorable calls than smaller clubs do, but that likely goes for Barca and other, top teams in their respective leagues as well.
I still recall those two weeks where CR was sent off for gently shoving a ref in the back, while Messi got off without consequence for actually pushing the ref to the ground the following week. No two refs are the same, and I don’t expect them all to share the same points of views on various situations, because they don’t.
I still think VAR could be a good thing, but it will remain flawed as long as the ref who’s visible on the field makes glaring, human errors, overrides decisions made by VAR, refuses to utilize VAR, and is approachable by players who may want to crowd or attempt to influence them.

Re: La Liga 2023/24
There's nothing to admit regarding ref favors it's not calciopolli. Refs do make mistakes and it can go either way. The game is fast paced and on average, calls may go for the bigger side than smaller side. But part of that has to do with the team and skillset. If I'm constantly on the attack, I have more chances for a free kick or pk than my opponent and potential for mistakes as a result. On the defensive end, if you've barely done any forward movement and first half a chance you get a pk, ref might ignore if its not clear enough, simply because they think you're desperate.
I could be totally wrong and none of the above applies, but that's how I see refereeing in general regarding bigger teams getting calls. As far as the Valencia game, I hated it, but it was a silly mistake. I'm more upset at the team for not being able to do away with an off brand football club like Valencia (i hate that club), than at the ref.
I've always felt against off brand sides like Valencia, if you play well enough with full concentration, that can offset potential for ref errors or defensive slip ups. The Mestalla isn't an easy ground, but still we should have done better.

Agree with u guys, actual more unbiased Real fans around which there are some, but unfortunately there r so many on the other end who r nearing delusional
Anyway, Real will be fine, I actually respect the current Real a lot since they never panic n have good mentality to come back into games so often. Even Vini getting to much stick all game he scored them two goals. One of the Valencia goals were give away by Carvarjal anyway so...

That's a red card on Vini all day every day btw... you shove a guy with both hands, very hard, that puts him on the ground.
No idea that ended up just a yellow card.

I was patiently waiting for VAR to jump in and kindly nudge the ref to go and pick a different colour. No lie, Vini got away big time. I dare say, the ref may have been wrong in his decision too.

Reports are claiming that Ancelotti is under suspicion of tax fraud. Hopefully, it’s nothing serious and the media is just attempting to generate hysteria.

Re: La Liga 2023/24
Thimmy, the Spanish tax office has been going aggressively after what they believe is Spanish tax fraud for the past ten years. Many futbol players such as Messi, Ronaldo, Raul, Xavi Alonso, Mourinho, etc and Entertainers, such as Shakira have been charged. They also make the charges overly dramatic with a possible jail term, heavy fines and of course the amount of tax they believe they are owed. In some cases, they have been right such as both Messi and Ronaldo avoiding declaring image rights income, but in the majority it’s a question of where were they residing. In most tax laws treaties, you file in the principal country you resided in for the year, but the Spanish don’t seem to want to do that feeling they should get the tax payments. They go after these players / managers / entertainers as the taxes are in the millions and good for publicity that everyone should pay their taxes. Eventually all these cases get settled, some with the target proven right or an agreement with what should have been the right amount or in a few cases such as Shakira, just giving in and accepting as the cost of fighting the charges and constantly flying back to Spain is not worth it.
I suspect they are in this campaign as there was a tax loop hole for years for well paid foreign futbol players and every day people questioned why they had to pay and not these millionaires. Not good for the socialists!
So back to Carlo, yes it sounds bad, but at end of day, likely in a couple of years it will be settled!
