Who'll go through ?

Kroos looking like Casemiro out there. Benzema dropping deep and linking up is beautiful as always. Carvajal is useless and Valverde seems shaken by Baena incident still.
All in all, Chelsea look like cup opponents from the second division to Real tonight so far.
I still haven't figured out what type of player Rodrygo is precisely.
Puzzling statement! That goal was the result of an incredible pass from Carvajal.
Yes that was nice but he strikes me as the worst player quality wise in the whole lineup right now. Clearly not what he used to be.

Haaland would thrive with this direct football. I really wish he played for us. Man City's football lulls me to sleep sometimes with their lengthy spells of possession recycling, and his athleticism is hardly being utilized.

I've loved Carvajal ever since we brought him back from Leverkusen, but I have felt for a while now that his best days are well behind him. He's not bad by any means, but any opposing player with some speed loves taking him on.
Asensio scores to make it 2-0.

Good game. Thought we got worse with the subs. Really don't know why Camavinga came out, he and Vini were having alot of joy down their side.
We have huge issues breaking PTB teams. We really need to become alot better.

Felix has turned out to be a flop even age his relatively young age? Man he suck big time... although tbf Chelsea are just a mess all round. Anyone would know Lampard isnt cut out for this big job...guess hes just a temp until the summer... otherwise Chelsea are fked
Cucurella for fking 60M is also a joke, just another one in the endless amount of money wasted by the management who seem to have no idea as usual...

Lampards tactics were very naive, too counter attack oriented and he let Madrid suffocate them. You can’t do that, have to take initiative instead of folding and betting on the odd counter to save you

Yeah, he should've played more like they've played in the league under 4 different managers. Clearly, the manager is the problem here

No it was the right tactics imo. Lampard knows we can't break down PTB. Chelsea defended with 9 players behind the ball and we had difficulties breaking them down. If they started opening up ala Liverpool we'd have evicerated them on the counter.Myesyats wrote:Lampards tactics were very naive, too counter attack oriented and he let Madrid suffocate them. This generally is an Ancelotti problem. His teams especially this ageing Madrid move the ball too slow for that and it tends to centre around the crux of the attack as Carlo seems to like.
But by the Gods the the winning mentality in this Madrid is the best I have ever seen.

Would've preferred to kill this tie yesterday, but we looked fine
Chelsea are in a bad state. Never understood firing a manager right before an important competition (Bayern too) but it so far worked in our favor

Lol at Lampard lineup, we have one attacker on the field(havertz), two goals down and decides to play 5 defenders and 4 CM.
Literally the worst lineup i have seen.

I mean, Lampard's re-appointment was very puzzling to begin with, he's a clueless coach and definitely not even good enough for a short-term caretaker. Not sure why they didn't just stick with Potter until summer, what was even the point of all that

Definitely not the one person that they sacked for being dogshit merely 2 years ago!
They're speaking with Luis Enrique, which I think would be a great choice, moreso than Nagelsmann who seems like a fraud and dresses like a homeless person. Enrique's direct football will suit Chelsea well
With the investment made to the squad, and Nkuku still yet to arrive (among others probably), they should be pushing for the PL title IMO.

In the summer? probably Nagelsmann, since we have hired a few guys from the Red bull system.

Well, I wish Enrique, Nagelsmann.. or whoever else they hire good luck. Because they recently wasted a ton of money in a transfer window on players with varying quality, and they still have a squad with a bunch of over the hill ones and relatively little tangible, sustainable quality for a top team. The right signings may improve things, but tactics and cheerleaders won't.

Potter had a 31% winning record at Brighton, he was a terrible manager and lampard has 1 win in his last 17 games. A manager will improve things dramatically. Also investing on the most important position on the the team a DM.

Odd statement! Isn’t Kante, one of the best DM in the world?

Real walking away with this but a better team could have made them suffer today. City will be a good test (and the real final).

He is a B2B and injured all season literally. We need an actual DM like Casemiro.
Good luck to Real, hope they beat City.

It wasn’t that long ago that Sports was saying Kante was far better DM than Casemiro would ever be!

Looking at that Chelsea bench n just lol... those players are good enough to be a mid table team at least with team B Pretty sure if a decent manager came in n just sort of who is suitable n who needs to go they will instantly improve? Just too stacked atm but without even a proper 9 n old T.Silva still leading the d says it all? Wtf have they been doing...

Yes, and now Potter's been sacked while Brighton are 7th in the league with probably the most underrated player in the league in Kaoru Mitoma. I have no clue who their manager is, but they're performing above expectations due to having a stronger team than they usually have. Did Potter man manage those players into who they are right now? I have no clue, but they do have stronger players than you'd normally expect Brighton to have.

Played through this game in second gear. We are going to drown against City without a CDM.
