The worst matchup for us. I would have gladly taken Bayern or City over them

True. Nobody knows wtf are Chelsea doing right now. Potter was already on the verge of a sack and they have no discernable style. They're about Milan/Inter level right now. Napoli would've been tougher probably

And Liverpool was a tricky tie, but lets be honest they've been terrible this season and nowhere near the level of City/Bayern obviously. Their gegenpressing is gone, they just opened up on counters before you.

Basically Chelsea and Liverpool were the least in-form teams left Laughing

But Chelsea could be in the relegation zone and still beat us. Their team just doesn't match up well for our old legs in midfield. Under ZZ when we lost against them, it could've been double digits as they zipped past Kroos/Modric/Ramos. Last season it was the same and we all know Kroos and Modric are starting together.

Also Chelsea don't have a set style so you can't make a game plan against them.

You at least know that City and Bayern will press from the front but Chelsea? Who the feck knows.

Liverpool was made famous by Barca. We were told how much superior they were every season but I didn't see it in any of our games. Terrible tactics playing right into our hands.

I've noticed that a lot of Brits on the internet seem to rate Graham Potter quite highly. Even on here, I think I recall someone praising him for his time with Östersund in Sweden. I wouldn't have guessed that we have members who actually watched his football there hmm

What did he do to earn the praise that some people are giving him? I'm not very familiar with him, myself. All I remember is that he never gave Kaoru Mitoma a chance at Brighton, and evidently that was a mistake considering how amazing Mitoma's been since the guy with the Italian name became their manager and actually gave him a chance. Brighton are exactly 9 points away from equalling their points tally of last season.

he impressed with both Swansea and Brighton, improved their football to the point where they put on very good performances against the top teams.

Thanks for responding. I haven’t paid attention to Swansea at all, but it seems to me that Brighton have been performing better since he left them. That might of course be a result of the team still working around Potter’s schematic, for all I know. They’re a pretty decent team overall, and with Mitoma as a wildcard, they’ve kept performing well against top teams this season.

If they win their next match, they’ll be above Liverpool and right behind Newcastle. I can’t help but cheer for them as the overperforming, underdogs in the league.

We are playing without a CDM so we are definitely conceding. Vini is in great form and Benz is back. So we'll obviously score. Think this is going to be a highscoring game

Real is a joy to watch today. Big matches bring out the best in them, that is the winning culture within the club.

Kroos looking like Casemiro out there. Benzema dropping deep and linking up is beautiful as always. Carvajal is useless and Valverde seems shaken by Baena incident still.

All in all, Chelsea look like cup opponents from the second division to Real tonight so far.

I still haven't figured out what type of player Rodrygo is precisely.

If Chelsea know what's good for them, they don't drop 80M on Felix. He's not worth it at all. Nkunku is better and he's coming in the summer to take his position anyways.

Fofana is a calamity. I am not surprised, yet another french CB who is a walking disaster.

We need to do better on the counter imo. Far too many timid shots

we should just triple his wage so that he starts loving that position. If Carlo still plays him there next season I am scared he'll tank his performances. Boy does not like playing LB at all but he's great there

They re-hired Lampard mate... obviously they don't..

Incidentally Atleti also started to play better without Felix, starting to see a pattern here

Yup. Great 1v1 defender, amazing energy to go up and down the pitch, and great technique.

His bad habits in midfield aren't exposed when he plays at LB.

He's a 'technician' who constantly gets pushed over and loses the ball.

How can you be the team's technical security hub when you lack it yourself? Complete vibes player.

Yes that was nice but he strikes me as the worst player quality wise in the whole lineup right now. Clearly not what he used to be.
