Re: Bojan to Roma
The buy back options are only for 2012 and 2013, chances are by then either Villa will still be going strong or Alexis will have replaced him as a starter. Bojan would still come back to be a sub, so I doubt that the buy-back options will ever be exercised.RealGunner wrote:this is more like a loan deal then anything, doesnt make sense. Either you sell him off completely or just loan him out

These deals are quite common in Spain.
Anyway, bad business for Roma, good business to Barca, Luis Enrique, yada yada yada...

This.
Like I said earlier, Bojan would have to have an extraordinary season for us to part with 28m. He'd have to really top the charts by some way.
As RG pointed out, if he flops, we can always just sell him considering that Barca definitely wouldn't activate the buy-back clause in that case. The only way this is a bad deal for us is if Bojan actually lights up Serie A Di Natale-style. I won't speculate about how well he can do with us in the next two seasons as I haven't seen near enough of him in any competition, but expectation will certainly be high in a notoriously fickle Roman media when these types sums are being talked about.

People are forgetting the part where it isn't a buyback option.

Re: Bojan to Roma
Every report I've read has mentioned a buy-back option and says nothing about anything being "obligatory".

Re: Bojan to Roma
Villa will be 32 come 2013,barca will definitely buy bojan back.
So in effect it is like a loan deal with Roma paying 6 mill/year for bojan lol
or
come 2013 guardiola getting sacked, luis enrique takes over barca with bojan.
shittst deal ever.I could negotiate better than this.

I only know what the barca official site saidThe Italian outfit will pay 12 million for the player and the agreement includes an obligatory repurchase clause to be exercised by FC Barcelona at the end of the 2012/13 season, for a cost of 13 million.
This purchase can be blocked by AS Roma, but in such a case the overall cost of the transfer will rise to 40 million euros.
So imo it seems like a glorified loan and Barca are desperate to sign Fabregas so selling Bojan for 2 season's will help them do that.
How i interpreted it anyway.
What i said in Roma section, I dont know what the Roma official site is saying but i think id believe the Barca official site on this matter more than any reports.

Re: Bojan to Roma
obligatory purchase??? thats worser buy back clues.who is the negotiator for roma?? Luis enrique himself??
6mill/year for bojan
6mill/year for bojan
Re: Bojan to Roma
Looks like I was wrong. It's essentially a loan for 2 seasons. Barca get hard cash now they can use to get Cesc whereas Roma are actually getting paid to take Bojan (they make a profit of it). Everyone wins, except for Bojan lol.

Re: Bojan to Roma
what profit is roma making off bojan?
i only see two winners here, it's barcelona and bojan. it's brilliant business as far as im concerned.
Bojan gets playing time under a mentor in luis enrique and works towards fulfilling his potential, gets experience in a top team with the pressure that goes with it, and while he develops and improves, barca will be right back to rip the rewards.

Thing is, if Bojan blows up and becomes the star he's been touted to be with us.....we're not gonna be making much profit because then we'll have to block Barca's repurchase and pay the 28m bucks in order to keep him and maximize his potential. Regardless of how he does, I just don't see us shelling out that much money for him.
@ Magricos and Mole.
You guys are right. Apologies.

Re: Bojan to Roma
It's a shame for Roma. They are not getafe or Barca B team . They are AS Roma and they shouldn't have agreed on the obligatory repurchase clause eventhough it seems that they are getting Bojan for free. BARCA treated Roma like a serie B team...shame

Not really, when you factor that Barca get Bojan off the wage bill for those 2 season's.

Re: Bojan to Roma
Roma can always do a Di Stefano and slap Barca in the face:
(for those who do not know, the Di Stefano move was highly conterversial, and both club went to the sporting court. The court ruled that Di Stefano should play one year for RM, and the other for Barca. RM recognized his talent, and wanted him all for themselves. Hence, they asked him to play badly in his first year with RM, which was also his first year in La Liga. Seeing how badly Di Stefano plays, Barca gave him up to RM. And the rest is history)
Two years of Bojan sucking though, not good for Roma fans

Re: Bojan to Roma
We're talking about something that goes into effect two years from now.
I'm not the least bit concerned honestly. I just want Bojan to come to Rome and do well. This kid has talent and he shouldn't be wasting it on the bench, even if it is Barcelona's bench. Hopefully he justifies his price in the two years he'll have with us.

Re: Bojan to Roma
The deal includes an obligatory buy-back clause that would see Barca re-sign the player at the end of the 2012-13 season for €13 million, but Roma can nullify the clause if they pay a further €28 million.
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/936489/barcelona-confirm-bojan-krkic-agreement-with-roma?cc=5739
I really dont like this deal. Like i said before, barca should either completely sell him, or just loan him. Wtf is this obligatory clause ?

1M profit? lol
for a club that is aspiring long term to become one of the very best in italy, investing in their "own" player with that money was something they should have prioritized.
if bojan looks like a 20M rated player by the time he is done with them, they are gonna look real funny. The fee they have to pay to cancel out the deal is ridiculous, 28M? lol
