Bojan to Roma
Barcelona have confirmed they have agreed to sell forward Bojan Krkic to Roma for €12 million.
Bojan Krkic is following Luis Enrique to Roma
The deal includes a buy-back option that would allow Barca to re-sign the player at the end of the 2012-13 season for €13 million, but Roma can nullify the clause if they pay a further €28 million.
Bojan, 20, was one of the best rated young talents to emerge from the Barcelona academy and made his debut for the club in the 2007-08 season, but he has found his first-team opportunities restricted of late.
At Roma, he will join up with former Barcelona B coach Luis Enrique.
Bojan will hold a press conference at the Camp Nou on Friday afternoon.
Could Roma have done better business ?

Re: Bojan to Roma
I think 12m is fair enough for him considering his age and potential.
Unless he has an absolutely stellar Capocannoniere-like season.....it's highly unlikely we'll cancel out that clause and shell out 28m for him though.

28m? That's insane for a constantly benched youngster.

Re: Bojan to Roma
WTF. Weird. Is this the right word. ?
The only one who wins in this deal is Barca TBH.
If Bojan shines, they can get him for just 1milion more, but those money would have been saved by his wage, so Barca would take their player back, without having to pay nothing. If Roma want's him back, Barca will get another 28mil.
That's an amazing deal for Barca. Plus I don't see Bojan succeeding in Serie A.
Let's hope I am wrong though.

Well if Bojan doesn't want to return to Barca can they still excise the 13 mil buy back clause?

The deal is not a buy back option, it is an obligatory repurchase.

Well then a really good deal for Barca they cant lose anyway. Also Roma are getting a quality young striker for nothing for 2 seasons and if gets them back into CL with his goals Roma will hardly complain either.

Re: Bojan to Roma
Is it that bad really?
Even if Barca by him back it would be like a one year loan plus a million for Roma.

yes it is, Bojan is quite talented, and if a coach manages to tap into that talent, he can turn into a very nice player. Barcelona couldnt do it, so they pretty much are asking Roma to do it for them, with the oportunity to get him back pro bono within 2 years. if he flops, no one profits ofc, but if he happens to start figuring out the game and turns good fast, we will be laughing at roma in 2 years.

The whole concept of loaning pretty much is what you described.
It’s no big deal

Re: Bojan to Roma
between two high profile clubs? sure Roma is relatively smaller than barcelona nowadays, but you usually send your players to a much smaller club for him to develop. It's good business for barcelona anyway.

Re: Bojan to Roma
The principle of the trade is the same.
You want a talented player to develop and you see it easier to be done in another team. The team’s size doesn’t play a part.
It would have been commendable if the teams were in direct opposition which they are not. So it’s not a big deal for me.
I agree it’s good business for Barca tho.

Re: Bojan to Roma
Bad business by Roma, Bojan is a promising talent but they really should have done better business wise. So if he shines, Barcelona can bring him back for a mere 1 million loss and for Roma to keep him they have to pay 28 million. Wow, just wow.

I wish Bojan the best.He just needs some confidence and the right break to explode.
If he starts I predict him to top the scoring charts comfortably.

And dont forget they would have already paid 12 mil so that will be 40 mil.

this is more like a loan deal then anything, doesnt make sense. Either you sell him off completely or just loan him out

Whats your problem?
Bojan is a quality player and if given a starting position there is no reason why he couldnt top the charts.

Bojan is a confidence player. He is also the Barca youth with the most goals ever through that system. It's completely reasonable to expect him to start playing very well if he can get a regular amount of starts. Why you hatin'?

Re: Bojan to Roma
The buy back options are only for 2012 and 2013, chances are by then either Villa will still be going strong or Alexis will have replaced him as a starter. Bojan would still come back to be a sub, so I doubt that the buy-back options will ever be exercised.RealGunner wrote:this is more like a loan deal then anything, doesnt make sense.
