Re: Fabio Vieira - The future best midfielder in the world
Welcome to Arsenal
==================
Watched about 10 of his performances
Here are thoughts:
Skillset and build:short,low center of gravity,excellent first touch and close control,relatively good use of weaker(right)foot,comfortable at turning with the ball and receiving/ playing in tight spaces
Playing style:very direct when it comes to final action,whether it's chance creation or attempting at goal himself
If he sees an opportunity to play the pass over the top/in behind defence or just big switches in transition he does it
I like his willingness to attack the box or move to free space on the far side to offer himself as a passing option,does a good job to make a complimentary over/underlapping run for a teammate who has received the ball in wide areas,from there he can get to a shooting position or create via cut backs(shame by the time he was becoming more regular Luis Diaz was already about to leave)
Shows good potential when it comes set piece deliveries as well
His ball carrying/reception mainly done with his preferred left foot so he like to stab the ball with outside of the boot and drag the ball under his foot to reset the angle which he needs to be sharp and carefull with or opponents will pick his pocket In PL
In terms of intensity off the ball and defensive work,he goes to a lot of challenges to put his direct opponent under pressure or get a toe in and win the ball
Gets fouled quite a lot ,in one match he already got two opp midfielders on a yellow after 25 mins lol
Overall very exciting signing,a player with potential to score 10+ goals and 15+ assists every season
But we may need to be patient ,from Liga Portugal to PL is a big step up but recent examples have been success
