I think Messi just decided to step on the gas because it's a world cup year. It's not like he bothered paying attention to anything Poch was trying to implement.

Messi wasn’t running like this in 2014 or 2018 lmfao.

Maybe there’s added motivation because it’s his last one and he wants to arrive in peak physical shape. Though I think Galtier’s convinced him to put more work off the ball. Both could be true.

Like him or not Mbappe is too good. I just hope they maintain their level after the WC until end of the season so they can really have a go at the CL this time... too many failures for too long now.

Mbappe may appear selfish in isolated incidents (shows bad mood; says some things) that the media love to play on since it gets attention... but on the pitch, he plays the exact opposite of selfish. That's really what counts.

He has now been involved in a few scandals, and has allegedly stated that:
-his team had too many black players and it was a problem
-told Muslim players fasting that if they don't break fast they won't play
