Having said that from a football fans pure pov its a bit of a shame to see some of the best few players in the world at PSG... league is too easy so they struggle to raise their level when needed in the CL... hopefully he will move to EPL or Barca once we fix our finances, now that would be something

I wish him well on his future endeavors... So long as his endeavors don't intertwine with us.

In the end I think we dodged a bullet.

There was a supposed deal in January. Unlike Alaba, Rudgier and years ago Figo, the player didn’t keep his word. Perez got played, but imo the real loser is Mbappe. Is this what is being reported by the Madrid media? If so I wouldn’t believe it for shit.

They’re trying to save face the same way they did when they couldn’t get the Haaland deal done.

Either way Mbappe milked them both and got himself the best possible deal. He’s the best player in their world so I assume in 2 years Madrid will still be in for him. He’ll be 25 turning 26, so he’ll still have 7-8 prime years to play for his dream club.

Nothing you do in the league matters unless you play in England or Spain, so unless he wins the CL this won’t do anything for his legacy until he moves outside of France. Though getting paid 500M to stay an extra 2 years is very hard to turn down. He’s still young so he can still easily make the Madrid move and rack up CL’s/Ballon d’or when he does move abroad.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Zidane became manager of PSG…

Mbappe called Flo himself to tell him... not through intermediaries according to media.  He wanted to explain his reasons 1v1.

I think there's more to it than meets the eye.  French president Macron had gotten involved.  I wouldn't be surprised if Bondy and other inner city football academies, that Mbappe's father is a part of, suddenly get funding to expand their programs.

Reading around, i get the sense that there's much more to this than just football.

And that’s with Neymar’s new extension in October and Messi joining in August.

Yet they’ll only sanction Milan and other Serie A clubs. FFP is a joke and always has been.

FFP was redone and basically thrown out the window a couple of months ago (they justified it by saying pandemic required that clubs be allow to invest).  It's paused. PSG took advantage of that loophole.

Vini is beasting at LW, Benzema isn't stopping anytime soon. Ofcourse it would've been amazing to have a match winner like Mbappe but signing him would've hindered Vini's progress who is quickly developing into a match winner himself.

I don't think anything is lost. Mbappe is stuck playing in an irrelevant league on a team with serious mentality issues. Had Mbappe joined a PL team, now that would've been a serious blow.

Madrid should move for Salah imo

Benzema can't carry the club like this for another year. I just don't see it. He will be great... but not every game like this. Also, Modric, Kroos and Casemiro are all on the decline. Carvajal is declining. Mendy isn't the answer.

Not only does Madrid need to find proper scoring depth (it's mostly Benzema with some Vini right now)... they need to get better on defense and midfield.

Barca will challenge. City is going to be a beast. If Zidane becomes PSG's manager, they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Madrid can't expect miracles every season.

It could be a blessing in disguise if they make the right moves. They can use the money they would've spent on a huge signing bonus + high salary to reinforce every part part of the squad.

Madrid would be fine with or without Mbappe. With that being said, Perez got played again but this time by Mbappe and his people.

The silver lining in all this is that there would always be talented goal scorers and Madrid could focus on improving their full back and midfield position.

The not so silver lining is that Perez may negotiate to get Pogba.

It's not a blessing to miss out on (citation needed) generational talent at all but it's not doom and gloom either. Madrid would be fine, it's not like they are struggling currently. And I'll forever be of the opinion you can't miss something you never had to begin with.

We can't expect Benzema to continue carrying the team. It's simply not humanly possible.

Mbappe and Haaland were the only two worthy candidate you can rely on to keep you competitive at the highest level.

By missing out on both of them, Madrid has killed its chances of staying among the elites for the next few years.
