Benz is so technically secure. He never loses the ball even when surrounded by 2-3 players.

Is Courtois really world class? Haven't seen anything from him this game.

This is the best semi-final we've had since Pool's comeback in Barca?

Those diagonal crosses from City are so dangerous. Spam those and one out of three goes in guaranteed.
Re: UEFA Champions League 2021/22 SF - Man City v Real Madrid
Definitely one classic.... crazy open game... hope for similar second leg but I imagine Man c would wanna control more... n amazing how Real keep doing it without being that good or creating that much.... the opposition tend to create more for them than themselves wtf...

Excellent and even game indeed despite one team being clearly better than the other.Kaladin wrote:This is the best semi-final we've had since Pool's comeback in Barca?

City fans pitch invading against their own team

Fun game. This game reflected everything I complained about City in the CL since Pep joined.

As usual for both teams, Man C should have killed it but let Real somehow right back in it with just 1 goal down. U can basically expect 1-2 goals gifted to them in the second leg as usual, Benz prolly score another at least, so Man C would have to score a few... otherwise again will get narrowly knocked out again ffs lol...

Disappointed with our defensive efforts but otherwise...
I am confident we can turn this around at home.

Judging by the Chelsea game, Bernabéu ain't such a fortress. City should progress relatively easily.
Re: UEFA Champions League 2021/22 SF - Man City v Real Madrid
The second leg will be all about experience and mentality. I think it will be very end to end.

Re: UEFA Champions League 2021/22 SF - Man City v Real Madrid
I know I was very much against scrapping the 'away goals rule', but it has certainly made games far more fun to watch.
Re: UEFA Champions League 2021/22 SF - Man City v Real Madrid
They should’ve wrapped the game up. Mahrez had 3 clear chances ffs. Dias and Laporte were inches away from tapping it in.
They’re chokers. Madrid is the complete opposite. They rise to the big occasion. City are superior to Madrid but it doesn’t matter. Sometimes it’s less about the systems and more about the intangible factors.

With this result I am confident we go through. No way we don't score in front of the SB and if we press high up they won't be able to cope with it.
Just need to start with either Modric or Casemiro or Kroos. I vote Modric

Re: UEFA Champions League 2021/22 SF - Man City v Real Madrid
City were obviously better, and they did waste some chances.
However, Madrid wasted chances as well. An Ederson gift after the first goal, a free header by Militao, and one atrocious Vini shot when he had no pressure were all very good chances wasted by them.
Madrid's defense was atrocious, and City scored from their first two shots on target, so they did get lucky in the rest of the match.
Frankly, having this limited Madrid team play much higher than their level is a miracle that the coach is not remotely getting credit for.
