I can't see arsenal dropping another point given their remaining games. Will be down to the last minute but should be safe

Neither team is safe and I can't predict who will get top 4. Both are serial bottlers. Arsenal obviously have the edge given the point. Tottenham do have a large GD edge that should see them through if they tie on points.

That damn deflection. Spurs should have had all 3 against Liverpool

Technically, he is not wrong at all. In his position, you would not find anyone as consistently good as him at this level of football.

Which is why we all know this message was not for the common fan but for the money bags at Pool. A "replace me if you dare" sort of message.

That is actually a good catch. Salah and agents are trying their best, "just pay me the damn money and let me stay here forever" ! Liverpool will be always one level below other clubs like City or MaUtd or Chelsea in terms of financial might.

While that might be true, you've outperformed all of those clubs in terms of building a strong core of a team, and that will at the very least last you a little while before you're forced to replace your top players. I stand corrected, but the common consensus on here seems to be that Klopp can develop any given, decent player into a superstar, so you shouldn't really have anything to worry about.

Grealish hasn't done much this season, but that might just turn out to be a pivotal goal for City spurring on the comeback to clinch the title.

btw what's Jarod Bowen's background?
-who did he used to play for
- is a mix of an AM, 10 and 9? A Dybala type so to speak?

Pep needs to grow a pair and make Ederson the main PK taker. Apparently he is the best in training.

Mahrez has been taking penalties since he scored against Dortmund in the CL last season.

His overall penalty record is meh. It's 20/28. That's about 71.4% and the average penalty record is closer to 80%.

That being said he was 7/7 this season up until his miss today. When the camera panned to his face I could just tell he'd miss. It reminded me of the same expression he had against Liverpool in Anfield a few years ago. You could see the nerves and doubts on his face. He messed up with the missed chances against Madrid and the missed 1v1 against Liverpool, and now there was this missed penalty. Yet he's probably City's most clutch player after KDB. Tells you a lot. Laughing

Either way, I expect Haaland to be on penalty duty next season. He's 24/26 on penalties, so a 92% conversion rate is very impressive. City will probably beat Aston Villa so it's not the end of the world.

Yet they'll be defended for having a clean build-up against the Norwich or Burnley. rofl

Then when the big games come around Laporte gets flown by and passes the ball to the opposition and Ederson is incapable of making any saves.

You could at least excuse it when they came in because they were like 23 years old, but they're like 28 now and it's the same story.

Yeah, and with Mahrez he’s taking the responsibility of being a goal scorer when that was never his game. Worse, he never gets the ball in dangerous positions. He always receives it out wide hugging the touch line. His fantastic movement gives him great goal scoring opportunities, but he’s never given license to skin his fullback like at Leicester. I mean ever (just look at that last Man U game a couple months ago, like come on now). and it really seems like he’s shackled. Whereas Sterling can run at will towards the opposition. By the way, grealish has the same issue. Once pep let the shackles go, grealish, surprise, plays much better. I understand peps no risk strategy to maximize possession, but honestly, especially with the talent mahrez, grealish, foden have, they should be the ones running at the opposition.. not damn Sterling. If you don’t have a 9 to create with and off of, it’s best to just let the wingers have some freedom. Actually reminds me of the way Zidane has his wingers play. He was way too strict with how he had vini and rodrygo playing..

Only de bruyne can score really, and for some reason pep doesn’t play him as a 9 until haaland comes. Pep has also been sticking with Sterling over and over again and it’s just not clicking. One game against cannon fodder doesn’t change that. Peps genius continues to over think things.

Exactly. Even with what I said above, you put a half decent defense and city have already won the league and CL. The narrative would’ve changed and KDB and Mahrez would be viewed as potential Ballon d’or candidates. But instead, playing guys like ederson, zinchenko (I like him a lot so I’m writing that name with pain), and Laporte is just gonna cost you again and again. The dias-stones partnership was a thing of beauty. Rock solid defense. Ake should also have gotten a shout at some playing time. As a pure defender he’s much better then Laporte or cancelo.

Cancelo is another one. I feel that he’s all flash and little end product, and he’s been made a major part of the city attack. He’s often found wanting in defense too. Walker for instance is far less talented but makes the right moves and doesn’t over complicate it.

Nothing new, Pep teams cant defend n are mistake prone due to the pressure they are asked to play under. At this point in time n the way things are going, almost starting to cheer for Liverpool to catch them now just due to Liverpool being so entertaining n such a great streak while Man C are such bottlers n repeats the same mistakes over so many yrs?

Pos Pep was so busy getting wound up by a couple of mouthy ex United players this week that he forgot to tell his players not to take David Moysie lightly smh. :brickwall: Can see Stevie Me and his boys aiding Liverpool in getting one step closer to completing football now, really.
