Luis Diaz Watch
He first caught my eye at Copa America, but it seems like he's off to a great start with Porto too. 6 goals in his first 8 league games this season and 6 goals in 11 appearances with Columbia in 2021.
He's like the Colombian Neymar. A dribbling wizard. Pure jogo bonito.
80M release clause. He's getting snapped up this summer, no doubt about it. Watch this space.

Re: Luis Diaz Watch
I think Juve should be in for him. Having him and Chiesa as wingers would do wonders for them.
Can’t see Barca going for him since they’re broke. That pretty much leaves the PL sides. Liverpool could use him as a rotational option for their wingers. He’d be a great LW for Arsenal too.

New fone hu dis? Please elucidate on his attributes and playing style if someone has followed him. He played us twice this season and I don't remember him which is not very encouraging.

On paper, he's the perfect fit offensively. He has all the makings of a modern wide forward.
He's fast, he's amazing at dribbling, he can dribble to the byline or cut inside, and he's great at making those left channel off the ball inside runs.
He's also really good at creating his own scoring actions. The type of player who can come up with something out of very little space. He has some nice finishing and even his heading isn't that bad.
I also think playing for Klopp is a perfect fit for him too. He'll have the freedom to roam and move between the lines with Robertson providing width. He can link up with Thigo who would be behind him. Liverpool don't play their wingers in an isolated manner the way City do for example. I think that will benefit him too.
I genuinely believe he has a really high potential ceiling. He's taken off this season goalscoring wise with 14 goals in 18 league games. A great return for a LW. It's not like he's scoring a lot of these goals from absurd positions they're similar spaces to what he'd be occupying at Liverpool.
I also don't think he'll run into the issues that guys like Sancho and Lukaku have where they've been miss profiled. Liverpool's scouting ID is too good for that kind of mistake.
Really what will determine his success is how well can be adapt to the PL and Klopp's system. The talent is absolutely there. If he takes off it wouldn't surprise me if he displaces Mane from the starting 11 who has been kinda mid for 1.5 seasons now.
Obviously as a dribbling inside forward he might have some annoying habits like overplaying or not being as hungry to score ugly goals, and maybe even his passing might be off every now and then but I think those issues are easier to fix.
So the real questions/issues are can he adapt to the PL intensity? Does he have the running power to play 90 min PL games consistently? Can he do what Klopp wants from him in a pressing manner and while sitting back behind the ball? Does he have a serious mentality? He's kind of lean will he bulk up and how will that impact things? Can he stay injury free?
I think these are the important questions. Ndombele and Naby are both incredibly talented but one is unprofessional and lazy while the other's body can't cope with the PL. If Diaz can adapt, he's going to be a great signing and I'm sure Liverpool fans will come to adore him. I don't expect too much from Jan - May, but I can definitely see him taking some major strides next season. I have more reason to be optimistic than pessimistic about this signing.

Re: Luis Diaz Watch
this game is infuriating. Rarely seen an uglier team performance than Peru's. It contains basically no football whatsoever.
They don't play, pass, do anything with the ball. They just lie on the ground, kick the ball away, feign injury, delay the restart, kick the ball away again, roll on the ground for another minute
How the fuck do they get away with this
and now they score the winner lmaoooooooooo

I saw 30 mins of this game in excitement and the only takeaway for me is that there is no use of a ref in these South American games, it's a free for all, do whatever you want.
This is actually what I wanted to ask Casc tbh, how is Diaz's on pitch mentality especially while reading his Wiki page, he had 2 big red cards. South Americans in my history have had the worst discipline always while Liverpool win the fair play each year, so I hope Diaz doesnt go in 50-50 for each challenge.

Colombia subbed on a player named Yimmi Chara who might be delivering the worst and most headless chicken performance I've ever seen lol

Diaz not covering himself in glory either though
Colombia, clueless team, only poor decisions, drilling endless crosses into a crowded Peru box, can't create a quality scoring chance to save their lives

Ya just paid 50 million for a guy who couldn't get passed ALDO CORZO all day against my beautiful seleccion, and you guys expect him to perform against the likes of Reece James and Walker?

That's fine, I am sure it would be better than playing Minamino, Oxalade, Curtis Jones or our academy fckin Right back Neco Williams on the wing. Anything is a positive right now

Re: Luis Diaz Watch
I quite like him. He has such amazing hunger on both sides of the pitch. His work ethic is unquestionable, always tracking back chasing their men, helping out Robbo.
His bravery as well, this isn't the first time he's gone into a 50-50 and been at the receiving end of something I kinda expected as I mentioned from my older posts. Goes down a bit easily some times but he will get used to the PL. Still some questions on his end product but that entire LFC strike force usually needs 4 chances to score a goal.
I also just love his directness and this also makes him a great option to bring off the bench when we have a slender lead and he always puts in a shift making our attack the first line of defense especially when he is 1V1, he drags that defender beyond the pitch to create space.
He seems like potentially a prime Klopp player in the making and I am really looking forward to him having a full pre season under Klopp. Let's see how next season goes but I have high hopes for him.
