We don't need to sign a CB. Our youth/back-ups are basically playing. Skrtel + DAgger is the CB pair.

Agger will be injured half the time. Evil or Very Mad

Carra and Skrtel is not a good pair we should try to sign a CB if possible.

Honestly apart from Kuyt none of the other 20 players were 1st choice last season.So its not really a surprise they are struggling for chemistry

Anyway... it's just a pre-season after all. No-one is taking this serious. We have no Gerrard, Pepe, Leiva, DAgger, Skrtel or Meireles. The players still suffering from jet lag aswell.

horrible defense in my opinion . .things seriously need to be sorted out in the back! ! 9 goals conceded in 3 games! ! :O

Downing looked good! ! Hendo had some inspiring touches! Some of Adam's corners where brilliant! ! Carroll for me was a little disappointing . . Sad

Carroll was always teamed.
Downing was alright.
Again, we had like 4-5 people out who will fix the defence issues when they're back.
Henderson is going to be a star.

Didn't watch the game, but what I can tell from everyone on here...

1. Our defense was seriously disappointing, but with Agger, Skrtel, and Glen out today (not to mention our starting DM Lucas) you can't really read too much into it.
2. When our backups were in (first half) we were unable to put together an attack, and the only player who might be first choice this season from that group (AA) looked fairly good.
3. The players who did play which could be first choice at points this season looked quite good, were unlucky not to score, and meshed well together, especially the new additions.

Overall, doesn't sound like such a bad outing to me. Scorelines are pretty irrelevant in preseason.

Carroll looked much fitter and sharper than other games. led the line well and created space and chances for midfielders to run into. one of the few positives
