I confirm , still average at max. Good foot but I don't see other. Anyway as backup is legit.
Perisic still on a higher level

I wonder can he be to us what Allegri was to Juve after Conte.

He used to trash small teams at home also in Lazio

if he would have extended his contract with Lazio ( as it seemed ) there were serious chances that Inter would have signed exactly Mihajlovic Very Happy

Terrible and overrated manager but I don't say it for today

One of my favorites.

I was in disbelief when Conte wanted to sell him to Tottenham, had some struggles adapting to 3 at the back in first Conte season but his class was obvious and I was so happy he stayed.

Also he is a threat on every set piece this season, he will score a couple with that Hakan/Dimarco delivery.

Just have to pray no one gets injured, we have nothing on the bench and absolutely have to sign a CB in January.

tbf Conte didn't want to sell him, Conte just wanted to say goodbye to Godin, at the end Skriniar was starter for 3/4 of season ( even though Skriniar 2019-2020 was the only one Skriniar not brilliant at Inter, he 's taken time to understand the 3-system mechanism) , but the club had to hear bids for financial situation...
luckily Tottenham didn't offer so much
His stay was the turning point.
Skriniar was always great at Inter ( except that year) even though old attemps to minimize him here ... but he became even stronger.  Best defender of the season last year with Scudetto that has his mark too and he begun on same level now. He's on fire

P.S I was forgetting this
Next Captain was designed in Barella , but personally I don't agree on this
Nothing against Barella, but Skriniar was the perfect profile, he's at Inter since 2017 and he's a perfect leader
I hope it doesn't mean that a player can't be sold while the other one can be him if big bid comes on

Hard to say who wanted him gone, but remember the start of last season? He was on the bench healthy, Conte tried with Danilo and Kolarov ahead of him and we had some shit results, the moment he returned to the starting lineup our Scudetto race began.

Anyway, I was really pissed off they even considered selling him. You are right, him staying definitely was the turning point.

Also he was the big reason for the transfer collapse, always said he loves Inter and doesn't want to leave, so I agree about him for the captains armband, but Barella is a good choice as well.

Remember when Garrone said how they robbed us for 20 million and Caprari? Good days.

Just for the first match against Fiorentina , as a precaution due to negotiation with Spurs ( Conte said he rated Skriniar as important to his project though) , but he was already starter for the 2nd match against Benevento

After ... the covid. he wasn't on bench anymore, he was not available because he tested positive to Covid
And his Covid lasted even much, more than 3 weeks

https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-health-coronavirus-soccer-slovakia-idUKKBN26T3A5

When he was again healthy, he was back as starter and we've seen the best Skriniar at Inter

It looks like the  daughter 's birth made it more stronger

yeah Barella is a good choice too , just Skriniar was my favorite #1 on this

I think they want an Italian captain, a bit as Calabria is the current Milan captain ( I admitt to have it found out recently, I believed the new captain was Kjaer lol )

I'm pretty sure you're wrong, I remember this very well as it caused me physical pain that he was on the bench.

Benevento was the season opener, he was on the bench and we were also without De Vrij. Then Fiorentina, again no De Vrij and Danilo and Kolarov staring with Bastoni in the center, conceded 3 goals.

Then we lost to Milan I think, 2 Ibrahimovic goals, that was when he had covid. We couldn't have a single clean sheet before he came back. It took 5 or six matchdays for him to finally return, then we started playing Skriniar - De Vrij - Bastoni and defence was rock solid from then on.

No, season opener was against Fiorentina .

You get confused because you think on 2nd half of season , but match at   Benevento   's been postoponed due to EL final , so close temporally ( Inter asked postponent)

 Calcio Saga 21/22 - Page 15 Intfior

He hadn't played precautionally against Fiorentina for that negotiation against Tottenham , essentially Inter waited the last bid , if it was really high he could be sold , but luckily...

Benevento was some days after, and he was back at the centre of  the project again
 Calcio Saga 21/22 - Page 15 Bvento

Then ... Covid . He missed derby for it and other matches.

Came back when he was negative again , and the Milan Skriniar Appreciation Society restarted definitely
