on this note, a player like bernandeschi who for all serie a and even juventus supporters is not rated, puts a confident pk but belotelli couldnt... nor immobile has shown any of confidence level speaks volume of things to come in the future.

today's win should be celebrated but down the line i hope mancini sees that this should be addressed

Honestly, this is one of the best English teams I saw, and I honestly think they could have won it all and even in a more convincing manner if they had a better manager than Southgate.

On the balance of things, they were not lucky enough to win the whole thing.

Overall deserved for Italy

dominated most of the game, even if their goal was kinda flukey and they didnt have much in the way of actual chances, clearly the better team

Not sure why people are criticising Rashford.

He did everything right and just got a little unlucky.

Saka and Sancho penalties were terrible, basically everything you're literally taught not to do.

Italy though im proud, they did the opposite of England for long, they actually went for goal on more occasion, and England actually played safety first for too long

Sterling's aware he has really poor penalty record. He's not that conceitful.

I guess it would be better for Philips or Shaw to take the penalty as they're mainstay who played well in the team, so would be more confident. Grealish maybe didn't want to take it as well

He should've just picked a side and cunted it in like all great players do. These little feints players do rarely work and often result in a mishit or telegraphed shot.

Just look at some of the greatest penalty takers of all time (Shearer, Zidane, Ronaldo, Zlatan, etc...). They take the penalty as if the GK isn't there.

Trashford's penalty was easily the worst... that's what you get for wanting to stunt too much. Saka and Sanshit were just nervous taking theirs... you can understand that, they're still young and have the hopes of the country hanging on them in Wembley

Sure but criticising him over two penalties which were about as bad as penalties get and literally what your taught not to do is just weird to me.

Yeah although some fans always ruin the name of the whole fan base, I still feel for the ones who have never watched their country play as good as England has played recently.

World cup is a far stretch for England, although they will compete. I feel like this was their best chance.
