EURO 2020 Final: England - Italy

Italy was sleeping in the beginning, and England scored and dominated for 10 or so minutes.

Since then, Italy basically were playing like poverty Spain without any penetration.

Emerson is useless offensively. He is in the right places, but he doesn't do well with the ball.

Immobile is freaking useless as well. England is dangerous on the counter. I don't see this getting better for Italy. If Jorginho goes out injured, expect another 4-0.

England are playing cattenacio lol. They know Italy barely have any penetration in attack other than Chiesa so the best tactic is to allow them to play.

Quite comfortable so far for us. Mancini will change things at HT surely

Fun fact, Italy has got so many ball passages that English fans got tired of booing all the time

You forgot to add English players are getting tired. Italy moves the ball more than people, a little like Spain. It takes its toll over time.

This is why I never like Mancini's 4-3-3 as its too balanced and spread out as 4-3-3 is only meant for a side bursting in all three sides of the pitch and as mentioned by me the 3-4-3 like many other examples makes it looks as if they have an extra man.

Italy is being stretched out wide as their possession is good but no penetration down Central.

Mancini has been perfect but I said he needed to make tweaks for this game as playing the same team gives Southgate a study from the Spain game and they've adapted to what Italy do best.


The second half will be no different. This game is done.

It's not that Spinazzola gone italy are less without him it's that they need a player like him not these Jack of all trades types fullbacks that are on at the moment.

Post Spinazzola injury spelled the whole system going down under because that have no offensive fullback adding to the attack

I cannot see it wide open Babun given unless tweaks are made then it will go by the way its going and or England will score on another counter.

The formation relies too much on the skill of the midfielders and intricate passes to which all have to do but they end up forgetting to get it in the box and Mancini may need to change the entire formation even if it risks the balance of the team.

For Italy, Emerson is useless, and that is reducing Insigne's threat.

Insigne looked his best when Spinazzola was with him as so often he has to do the offensive work for Emerson it's limiting his creativity and play and makes the left side useless.

BTW, it's worth saying that Maguire never plays as well for United as he does for England. Completely different player.
