Morata is a strange player.

Capable of both the sublime and the ridiculous. Explains why he gets so many chances at big teams and big games, and why he rarely sticks the landing.

the goal he scored was of great confidence and by same token pk he took was of poor confidence....
he just looked so frail on that pk honestly .... i guess even we knew he would miss that

Meh for me there were like 3 or 4 other blockable penalties that couldve been saved had the GK gone the right way. For me personally as long as you don't actually miss like Olmo did you golden.

So 3 oriundi on pitch : Jorginho, Toloi, Emerson

A lot of days I imagine the midfield of Casemiro-Jorginho-Thiago Alcantara Euro 2020 - SF : Spain - Italy - Page 15 1f623

In reality we have to see Fred (:

I understand you regret, he'd have also chosen Brazil

@Lord Awesome nah it was a trash penalty. Not enough power behind it, perfect height for the goalie and not in the furthest reaches of the corner either

yea Busquets and Olmo two best players tonight. Ferran Torres looked sharp too.
lol he had spent quite his football career for a while at Croatia. he was very good there.

I enjoyed Spain but knew beforehand that Italy would get unbalanced against them its the only team that has been a problematic one for ITaly for too long

I don't think Olmo looks east european or scandinavian at all

Despite being blonde he looks spanish. Gives me a Fernando Torres/Iker Munian resemblance

Just baffled how Adama got like 0 minutes the entire tournament. Like why would you not bring the only player with blistering speed and dribbling ability? specially in extra time lol

What is Pau fucking torres or thiaslow going to do?

Maybe I was following the narrative, but I had the strangest feeling Morata would miss. Poor guy.

Still, he was the only Spain play to take his chance and the reason they even got to penalties, so that shouldn't be forgotten. Oyarzabal could have sent Spain to the final on his own with the chances he had.

Spain are good still. Olmo and Pedri look the future of their midfield, Laporte is a great addition at the back and Pau Torres + Garcia are promising. If one of their forwards can get to that next level and become a killer for them, they'll be contenders.

As for Italy, this was one of the few times this tournament they chose to play without the ball and defend their penalty area. It could have been costly given Spain's chances. Immobile has been a problem because his hold-up and link-up has just been mediocre so he looks like the odd one out in the front line. Would be a big call to drop him for the final.

Same, such a fantastic keeper. Comparing the feeling of having him to Szczesny is something else.

agreed, it was a penalty every gk dreams of

beta mentality stuff right there. Morata is really a puzzle, capable of the inordinary (rarely) but mostly ordinary. You can see how he could fool a few big clubs into buying him

Definitely drop Immobile for the final

He could not even control the ball correctly, we are begging for scraps here

Chiesa-Insigne-Berardi was more dangerous in the few minutes they play together. Belotti don't deserve to start either, he is a late game sub at best. I wonder what's going with Emerson too
