Which teams will go through ? ( Choose 2, please)

No doubt Deschamps will continue with this pragmatism to the bitter end.
I can't put in words how much I hate his football
this team should be running opponents over with creativity, skill and beauty, such a huge assemblage of stunning talent and quality
instead mixing up the concrete, it's just horrible
the guy should be tried for crimes against humanity, World Cup win or not

Re: EURO 2020 - Group F
100% agree.
You think of all the national teams we remember, win or lose, be it one of the Brazil teams, Netherlands, whoever, you think of some of the great quality they had and how they were the protagonists in games.
France have all the quality in the world to do the same, instead they play exactly how you describe.
A typical French highlight package includes Griezmann tracking back fullbacks and putting in sliding tackles, while Pogba immediately looks for Mbappe behind or directly to Giroud. Very effective sure, but just so simplistic and unimaginative.
Imagine if they had Zidane (as a player) today, what on earth would he do in this team with this style of play?
I dont think they will change though, even if they dont win this competition, they will continue this same path until Deschamps eventually leaves.

Re: EURO 2020 - Group F
You guys misunderstand DD. He plays whatever tactic gives him the best chance of winning that game. Playing Germany in Munich means you need to be conservative. On the other extreme, leaving the ball to Argentina is stupid... so France attacked almost all game long.
Keep in mind that Varane had an awful season at Madrid, Kimpembe is mistake-prone and Pavard isn't exactly solid defensively either. So he needs to protect them. You're asking to lose if you let that back 4 on its own. In contrast, you can leave Mbappe, Griezmann and Benzema on their own with a better than good chance that they score.
It's all about probabilities with him. It's not pretty.. but effective.
The only way he changes is if France loses. After a Euro Final and WC win... it would take a loss prior to the semis imo.

Re: EURO 2020 - Group F
Big test today for Germany, potentially tournament-defining game
I see so many parallels between England and Germany, they have a talented squad but like England are at the behest of a coach who can't utilize them to their full capacity
This squad really is better than some of the callups since 2014, (Kiesling, Schmelzer, Holtby, Marin, Meyer, Kramer etc)
I suspect Germany will have a strong squad once Flick sorts them out by Euro 2024, but right now i don't foresee them going far in any tournament

At least Germany played well. They couldn't create or finish enough chances but with their midfield they play with fluidity. England on the other hand hasn't been playing anything (relative to expectations), the their two games have been too poor.

Yeah Germany won't do anything before Flick takes over.
Might still be enough for today.

Hungary score.
France missing good chances. They'll probably come back but at least it's a game now.

Re: EURO 2020 - Group F
Pavard and Varane had a proper Chuckle brothers moment. Then again, I found both to have been shaky from the kick off.
France should come back from this, way too much talent but I love that Hungary is up for this. Cannot fault the effort.

Nice long ball but defending here leaves to be desired
Try to cut the pass ended up deflecting it in the center of the box
