Two great saves in sequence (one after a handball from Sanchez, but it still was a good save).

See, just there, Bastoni with a hand on Cuadrado's shoulder, and Cuadrado falls down, but no foul.
That was much more contact than on the penalty box, and the ball was in play. You could see several instances of the same move, from both teams, and it is rarely given.

Re: Calcio Saga 20/21
In VAR era, thats a penalty. I've seen softer penalties given and I wouldn't even count this as a soft penalty if we go by the 'new standard'.
Even in the supercoppa game, Mertens is already falling over and clearly fishing for a penalty before Mckennie even makes a challenge on him but the VAR team adjudged it as a penalty. There have been so many cases like this post VAR.
The only inconsistencies I see are opinions of prejudiced posters who crawl out of their hole after their team starts winning a few games.
Certainly Milan wouldn't have been awarded 14 penalties out of 19 games, thrice as much as the next highest team if these 'inconsistencies' in rules were applied.

Why not quote me by name if you are going to so clearly indicate me?
At no point in any of my comments did I claim that all 14 Milan penalties were clear penalties. In fact, I think that 25% of them shouldn't be given, and are a clear downgrade of the game. At that, I have been fairly consistent, and you can see it in every matchday I posted here.
I see a clear flaw in the way penalties and red cards are given in football, and I think it ruins a lot of matches. Also, I see it creates a lot of inconsistencies between matches and within the match itself.
Cuadrado's penalty in this game is not the worst, but this is clearly an example of a penalty and a free goal-scoring chance given in a situation where no goal-scoring threat was remotely possible. This has created, and I include Milan in this category, a strategy of players charging into the penalty area with the intention of gaining a penalty kick.
Milan has been creating the most chances in the leagues this year, which is why we get more of these bogus penalties (and I am not going to pretend that doesn't please me in the long run, although I will admit it when a penalty is soft). However, I know that this means we will get the same kinds of penalties against us as well, and that's no way to win or lose a game.

Re: Calcio Saga 20/21
The real tragedy is Bernardeschi’s crossing ability. Whether there is a man directly in front of him and he belts it into him or there is no one and he skies it, he’s a completely useless player these days. He hasn’t put in a good cross in years (years)
Anyways, it’s a penalty. Young, for whatever reason, decided to pull down Cuadrado blatantly with no regard for the fact that Bernardeschi was the one crossing the ball in. You just can’t do that. VAR or not. If it happened anywhere else on the field it would be a foul. It’s a penalty here
I am completely on board for criticizing the cross, it’s as bad as they come but you just can’t pull down players in any phase of play, at any point of the field, regardless of where the ball is

At the end penalty kick was true, Ashley Young is a fucking idiot
and that 2nd goal was due to usual idiocy by Handanovic. Atrocious GK, nothing new
2 goals given to Juve, in addition to two incredible chances missed by Sanchez and Darmian on 2nd half ( Manchester United old glories were harmful yesterday)
Inter creates and destroyes itself, the ultimate bottler team
The only joy : Nicolò Barella . Amazing player.

Re: Calcio Saga 20/21
three things are true :
Penalty is right
Ashley Young is an idiot ( that cross was going towards Pluto .. very useless foul )
Cuadrado is the most hateful football player
Do you know that Aesop's fable " The Boy Who Cried Wolf "?
It's easy to think to a dive when you' ve Cuadrado as character.
Moreover shouting like one possessed ... Intolerable human being

Cuadrado is an ass on the field but from all signs he seems like a great guy off it. Seems really friendly, humble, and joyful when he speaks.

Re: Calcio Saga 20/21
Thats gotta be one of the strangest pens I have ever seen though, and thats the problem with anything based too much on technology instead of people's judgement that takes into account the environment (by any competent ref that is, that should have seen the cross was sky high and not a chance was made). I dont know, but I think in the pre-VAR days of old this would not have been a pen.
VAR has been overall better to have than not, but this was a big example of its limits. I mean basically Juve got back into the game from a cross that was sky high into the stands Loool.
The second goal was a disaster for Inter... I feel for Conte, not much he can do about these, amazing bad luck...

Balanced match between Napoli and Atalanta so far, with a slight edge to Atalanta.
There weren't many dangerous chances in the opening 25 minutes, just a couple of half-chances, with one dangerous chance for Atalanta.
Both teams are theoretically able to win the Coppa.

Best midfielder in the league this season. Unreal mix of consistency and quality.

I dont rate Barella as highly as others as I find him generally inconsistent and that he disappears in some odd segments of the game.
But there is no doubt that he is ridiculously technical and skilled.

The kid is a huge star and will be the best Italian player of the decade, if he manages to leave the league that is.

Did we play well ?? Missed the match. I watched the penalty several times, it's like Cuadrado trips on his own feet. Another soft penalty given by VAR.
Also Demiral's yellow card.....
In both cases we'll take it, supposedly VAR is a great system, a revolution of justice and fairness in football

No, you didn't do it
But Inter bottled it and it was enough to win

We played exactly as the "boring" matches of Allegri when we grinded ugly wins in the middle of the season. Basically the most anti-Pirlo Juve seen under Pirlo so far. Kulu marking Brozovic instead of much involvement, some last Dutch defending, few chances, goals from terrible mistakes of Inter's backline.

Also what is Bentancur doing there instead of Brozovic? Cuadrado in place of Hakimi too, but that is more arguable.

Re: Calcio Saga 20/21
Inter vs. Fiorentina now, and they are 2-0 up.
This is a champion's performance. They are not playing super well, but they survived the Viola's onslaught, and then punished them with their first attack in the second half.
It doesn't look like Fiorentina could give Milan or Juve a gift this match.

You know, if he reiceves a yellow card on Sunday against Lazio , he 'll miss next match ( I don't know the English term for "diffidato" ) . The match after Lazio, as you know it, it's the Derby.
I' m terrified from this.
