It makes me sad to watch this guy still start in the premier league. It reminds me of watching Scott Parker. Or Eric Dier. They all must have had some blackmail or something because I don't understand how they actually get in a team.
we've been a slow downward spiral ever since he joined our club...
he's developed a pattern that has kept him here... makes his usual cock ups, gets abused by the fans, then he gets a break from the team, but then due to other underperforming players or injuries he gets back into the team and puts in a few respectable performances, then gets praised by some fans for it... rinse, repeat

Simple 1 touch wall pass to Luiz and Arsenal are out of that press.

I don't think Xhaka is a bad player. I think he would be good for Wolves or Soton or the like. He's not the player Arsenal want if they want CL.
Midfield has been a huge problem for Arsenal for years and Xhaka is a mainstay in that midfield. There's something off there.

Re: 2020/21 Premier League Discussion
Another game, another opportunity for me to not understand the new rules. Surely, if the opponent's arm is in an unnatural position, it doesn't matter how close the ball is to him when it hits his hand? So if his arms are above his head and the player goes for a lob and it strikes the hand, it's surely a penalty since his arms shouldn't be there in the first place? Whatever...

Honestly if any elite club is looking for a WC goalkeeper for cheap then they need to get Martinez

Re: 2020/21 Premier League Discussion
Honestly Ole deserves more credit than he gets. United's individual players really aren't all that, but he's done decent with what he's been given. Though there are a few positions that they've needed to invest in for the last few seasons and they haven't. Instead they signed Van de Beek which didn't make sense to me at the time, and still doesn't right now.

Re: 2020/21 Premier League Discussion
Yeah I've definitely changed my mind on him. He's a good coach imo. His teams struggle a bit when they're on the front foot, but if he makes some key signings to improve those areas I think they'd be able to compete for the title.
A controller in midfield to help build up and a quality right winger to add end product from that area of the field. Then they can look into adding a CB and CF next. It feels like those have been problem areas for them for a while but they haven't really done much to rectify that.

Re: 2020/21 Premier League Discussion
Having said that, his record in big games is pretty poor though.
This underdog shithousing your way towards boring draws/flukey 1-0 wins against big teams is probably not going to work in the long term.
United need to compete like a title winning side if they want to be anywhere near winning the league.
