In this case, it was a view obstruction. Vini was was blocking the goalkeeper's view.

It was the right decision.

Sigh, seeing Mendy at RB was my cue not to watch this match.

We got rid of Haikimi, Regi, Hernandez and lord knows where Odri gone to play a very much past it Marcelo and Mendy at RB.

French managers and their misplaced loyalty needs to fucking end.

There are about 5 dead wood players in this squad.

There was an opportunity to clean them up last summer. But 'loyalty' and salary allowed these players to stay at the club.

I have never subscribed to being loyal to players. It's about winning, I want the team to win. Supporters want great, passionate players with energy and enthusiasm.

When I look at Marcelo, he is the epitome of a player who is comfortable. No need to worry about anything, whether his performances are poor or great.

The club shouldn't have to tell a player like this to leave, he should actively seek a new challenge elsewhere

Why would Marcelo, or anyone else for that matter, leave of their own accord when they’re more comfortable here than anywhere else? PSG seem to have similar issues with some of their players.

We shipped out much younger and hungrier players, for the sake of keeping Marcelo around. He’s a club legend, reportedly earns about $100k weekly before added bonuses, evidently has complete faith from the manager.

I can’t think of any reason why he would want to leave, or drag his family with him to a new country for the sake of «new challenges» when he’s achieved pretty much all there is to achieve already.

@cyborg; in fairness, u have to acknowledge the pandemic, transfers took a big hit because of that. U cant tell players to take wage cuts then spend millions. I really dont think we wud have done anything last summer regardless, but we have to acknowledge the pandemic played a significant role

I do agree with ure take on loyalty to players though. It's not a lifetime achievement award
