Icardi doing the famous Anelka's there. Red then, no foul now.

Re: Ligue 1 20/21
I tuned out after HT. You can tell the game it's going to be from the starting lineup. Mbappe is their only attacker who runs off the ball. No overlaps from Hakimi or Mendes who aren't playing.
Nice is a good team though. They're very good tactically. 4-4-2 with no space between the midfield and defense off the ball then a 3-2-4-1 on the ball. Galtier needs a big job.

Besides Messi disappointment... Wijnaldum has been absolute dog shit. Add Donarruma not winning the job and Ramos being perma-injured...
Best signing was Mendes by a mile lool. Who would have called that one!
Marquinhos, Verratti, and Mbappe are the spine of this team. PSG needs all three to be competitive at a high level.

Another game beaten by Nice lol... nothings changed. Sad to say Di Maria looks past it as well, he has no pace anymore n hasnt been in great form lately...
Oh well I guess the league games will be like this more or less unless the best team with Mbappe is out. Definitely need to hope everyoen will stay fit though if wanna get far in the CL...

Re: Ligue 1 20/21
Booing Neymar is standard procedure as he totally earned that one but Messi is a bit harsh (or very depending on if your user name here starts with "Cas").
Sure, his 1st season has been quite underwhelming from a Ligue 1 perspective but he did well in the UCL up until he faced Madrid (and it wasn't his total fault anyway).
Then again, PSG is paying him a small budget every month to kick a ball sooo...

Re: Ligue 1 20/21
It's to be expected, he was expected to take them over the line in the CL but their season is over in March and he didn't really do anything of note. Yes I don't think he's been awful, and specifically the Real collapse had little to do with him, but there is no question he underperformed.
Still, I think if he can get a good run of games he can at least finish the season well and provide some entertainment value.

I think people were expecting too much of a 34 year old player in decline if they thought he was the missing piece.Cruijf wrote:It's to be expected, he was expected to take them over the line in the CL but their season is over in March and he didn't really do anything of note. Re: Ligue 1 20/21
I find it quite amusing tbh. Did they boo Kimpembe and Dollarumma or was it just Messi and Neymar?
Rough times for Messi FC right now I can't lie. Just know that any individual decline or league adaptation issues are being exacerbated by the coaching. I've seen enough of PSG this season and analyzed their stats enough last season to know Poch has a large share of blame too.
The crowd who thinks any coach would do well with Pep's resources are awfully quiet about Pochettino. Managing superstars requires a different skillset from a man managing and tactical perspective. It's clear Pochettino ain't up to par with the second aspect. It's one thing to play a high pressing 4-2-3-1 with an underdog team that has athletic players than it is to play functional football with superstars. PSG 21/22 is the worst performing top team I've seen in my life.
We move again next season. This season is a write off. New coach next season + potentially shithousing the WC in Qatar. A lot at stake next season. It could be redemption or the clear end of an era...

Nah, it was just specifically Neymar and Messi. I do not think PSG fans would boo one of their own in Kimpembe and no one cares about Donna enough to boo him.

I can understand booing Neymar in general for being an annoying shit, but are people really blaming him for PSG's collapse?
That's such a weird take.

Re: Ligue 1 20/21
I don't think it's just solely down to that. A lot of media and rival fans keep saying Neymar has his cult in PSG and is a big locker room problem, also that he cost PSG 200m plus massive wages and he's played about 50% games for them, for example with us he made 46 app per season at PSG he's making 27 app per season. It's like a vacation for him. Likewise Messi people saying he's just there for the money, vacation and saving himself for the WC.
This game just broke the camel back probably for them, rather the above is true or not its bond to go to the back of the minds of some supporters and start questioning it.

Neymar was PSG's best player when they made the final in 2020. Also he always seems to score when he gets massively booed lol.

Absolutely false! He's been literally falling off a cliff for 2+ years now. Forget him being the best player... he hasn't even been a top 4 player on the team in that timeframe. Mbappe, Navas (yes him before this season), Verratti, and Marquinhos have been far better. Don't let the useless fancy dribbling and the once in a while flash fool you.
He'll get you the 15+ goals (he took all the PKs before Messi joined) and 10+ assists... which may look ok. But really, he's never there in the big games. Never. Always injured or disappearing.
PSG literally started looking terrible the moment managers started to design the attack around him and he stopped being a pro. Hist first year at PSG, it worked fine because he was in shape and motivated. But since he's been partying like an animal... he can't handle it. The ball literally stops whenever he gets it. Mbappe has made him look far better than he's really been the last 2 years.

Re: Ligue 1 20/21
Sportsczy at it again acting like no one else here watches football or has Alzheimers.
He was PSG's best player in that Champions League campaign. Scored the goals against Dortmund in the last 16, MOTM against Atalanta in the quarters, was also great in the semis where Di Maria dominated. His finishing has been terrible for some time but there are far bigger suspects for PSG's woes than him. We gonna forget how good he was against Bayern last year too?
Had a woeful second half against Real this time, but so did the whole team. He still got two assists over the two legs. He really should have let his contact expire and left the team.

Re: Ligue 1 20/21
Before this season, none of you watched Ligue 1 or PSG more than maybe (at most) 5 games a year... at most!
When i hear everyone talking about how PSG walks Ligue 1 etc... yet PSG is not the defending champion lol... that's all i need to know about GL and the knowledge here about Ligue 1 or PSG.
So yes, I take any statement about Ligue 1, PSG or anything re the french teams by GL members (other than Doc and Farfan because they watch) as absolute ignorant dribble. Even if the statement is right, it's likely based on a very small sample size.

My über eats era began with the Carletto-Zlats duo to which I maintain still was the best Paris of the decade unlike this current Mbappe dominant one.
Couldn't care less for PSG as of now plus OL has always been my favourite Ligue 1 team, and that wont change.

It's the betrayal that hurts the most Hans. I straight up do not understand French and have to listen to the commentators speaking a language I do not know. Worse off, French commentators are not as extra as the Spaniards, anyone from Mexico/SA or the Italians so if I do not pay attention, I could miss every single play.
Buuuut he did mention me later so I suppose I should not be hurt...much.
As for the Neymar discussion, 2020 was Neymar's (to me) finest season at PSG where he really was legitimately great for them on both fronts (despite only playing 15 games in Ligue 1, he was ridiculous in all 15). 2021, well, you saw the inconsistencies started to show up except in Europe, he was immense...up until the City game.
This year, I don't know, not even his stats are anything to big up. However, Sports would disagree with me immensely but when Neymar is not performing as he should, PSG lacks a lot of bite, something Messi can't seem to provide and Mbappe can only do so much (you know, he's a striker after all) aka no Neymar, no party.

Re: Ligue 1 20/21
Yea PSG been awful... Monaco pressing n PSG couldnt cope, that back line n the DMs are pretty weak when pressed, n considering no Messi or Di Maria, Neymar n Mbappe arent helping much, its hard to just progress the ball when Monaco work hard like that.
Poch needs to go sure, dont look like improving.
Wijnaldum definitely not been suitable for PSG most of the times hes played...
