Juventus summer 2020 special - now summer 2023

We overpaid like 10m for Locatelli and we pay this transfer in instalments so i don't see a big scandal here. I did not like his utilization in a regista role where he's basically invisible instead this guy should play closer to goal.

I don't share the general disgust on Alex Sandro he's a serviceable player, he's not attacking anymore but we know he can cover a lot of ground. On the right the starter should be Cuadrado old but gold. Danilo can play every position in defense. Full backs not a priority for this year imo

I get the impression through the yrs that Cuarduado has been one of Juve's most consistently good players right? The way he got pwned by Dembele was typical or not? Looked terrible defensively but a much better attacker, I know he used to be a winger but converted to FB?

Cuadrado's defense is decent i would not call him a lock down defender but he can intercept and win duels aggressively. And yes he got characteristics of a winger that's why he works like a piston on the right side no matter what the team strategy is.

Is this the official Juve thread now ? If yes maybe we deserve a decent title

Contacts enabled for Memphis Depay for a loan + mandatory option to buy. He is worth around 20m which is cheap. He brings verticality on the left side or he can play SS even striker. Hope it's a done deal soon.

Bremer - legit talent
Rugani - wouldnt look out of place in any bottom half backline
Cuadrado - good, getting old
Arthur - generic CM, see Rugani
Pogba - huge questions around him
Kostic - supposedly pretty good but Bundesliga ?
Vlahovic - considered an elite talent when they signed him, stunk it up for them in the second half of the season, thoroughly unimpressive, should still come good but who knows
Depay - Midcarder, should net a lot of goals in Serie A though
ADM - old, probably be a good signing

Di Maria is going to look like Messi in this league

Vlahovic flopped because he touched 20 balls per game. Last season our big weakness was inability to create scoring chances. Allegri had us play ultra defensive because as soon as we tried to play vertically we would lose the ball.

Now we have no excuses to play negative football again we added creativity and pace on the wings. In midfield Zakaria-McKennie to find open space and apply pressure then Pogba-Locatelli will distribute the ball and take long shots. There is no need anymore for Rabiot and Arthur 2 players very cerebral with poor reactivity so they end up doing nothing. Paredes is better than both let's see if we can buy him for cheap.

Defense is decent enough for Serie A. With this squad we can win the scudetto, i expect nothing from CL, maybe top the group is a reasonable target.

I don't count their keeper whoever that is now. I am more interested in the non GK players. And Juve have strengthed in every line with multiple players

Interesting first half. We are playing football again.

Everyone is confirming that Paredes is signed. Another player that can improve but that also comes with injury issues. That will be the main theme of our season. Depay was too expensive so Milik was signed instead as a back up to Vlahovic.

The only thing pending seems to be Arthur's departure, who seems totally out of the project. Rovella will go on loan to Monza, Miretti will stay, and Allegri said yesterday that he thinks Fagioli will stay, hope its true.

If everyone were to be fit we would look much better than last season, it will take a long time for that to happens though, a mercato that was too busy out of necessity with the season starting early on top of it.

I'm happy to not be cynical about the management anymore. The team is not tip top because we started from so low at the beginning of summer but now the revamp is enabled. Our moves make sense, we did not gamble on potential, and did not commit too long to veterans.

About Milik, not very exciting, decent at best when healthy and as injury prone as they come. But as back up it's better than nothing.

Good luck to Arthur and good riddance. Wikipedia page still describe him as a player whose "style of play, very technical, reminds of Xavi Hernandez" reality is far from that, but maybe in England he'll give an ounce of effort


I read rumors on Zakaria and wtf. Give this guy a chance, if we sell him we go back where we started from in midfield, with nobody really up to the defensive task.
