We made two noteworthy chances in the whole game. Fortunately, they were good chances and resulted in two goals.

The shot volume was appalling, though. The inability to turn possession into final third entries and actual shots on goal is a great concern. It was something that screwed us last season and clearly is going to continue to screw us IF we don't sign anyone.

It's also a continuation of the trend of struggling against teams playing a mid block aiming to win the ball in midfield instead of our third. Against high pressing teams we've been successful in moving out of the press and creating chances, but against any other side we've struggled big time.

So in a weird way, we might not too too badly in the coming games. Our next six:

Leicester (A) (League Cup)
Liverpool (A)
Sheffield United (H)
Manchester City (A)
Leciester (H)
Manchester United (A)

And if we beat Leicester in the cup, there's a good chance we'll get Liverpool at Anfield in the next round.

Tbh, 7 points from that run would be very good.

Heard Tierney should be okay for Liverpool which is great. AMN also needed.

Not sure how Arteta is going to treat the league cup. I suppose we do have a lot of fringe players. I won't be surprised if we go out.

I understood it as being explicitly the exact opposite of the ideal starting XI, or rather an XI out of all the player that did not feature in the starting XI so far

A match where Cedric could have started. But he is out injured. I dont know but whenever someone says Cedric Soares but brain process the sound as Kim Kallstorm.

no ifs but or maybes. We have to at least get one of Aouar or Partey. We have to! We fall so far behind again if we do not get one. If we get Partey, Ceballos can easily side in next to him and Xhaka to create a flat midfield three in which he has most license going forward. If he doesn't cut it there, Saka can easily fill in for him, the lad is that good.

David Moyes, Issa Diop and Josh Cullen test positive for Covid 19 after they played us.

Latest batch of Arsenal tests turned up negative, but... well, give it a few days and see. Hopefully nobody will be infected.

Gonna be the story of this season innit.

We're so shot shy. Some of the approach play has been promising but we can't convert it into shots. Pepe refusing the use his right foot anything is especially annoying.
