Great guy and fantastic midfielder in his prime.

I actually believe his decline has more to do with motivation and fit, than with physical decline. He is our midfielder that covers the most ground after all. Clearly time to move on for us.

Maybe in Barcelona in a new club and different role he can come back to his world class best. Walks into your starting 11 even now imo. Good luck to him.

Yep he was great in his prime and still covers more ground than most. Anyone can walk into our starting midfield though, the shape is pathetic.

I won't miss Arthur, just wish Pjanic was a little younger. He can still give us 2 good years though

I've always liked Pjanic, just wish he were younger, that he was not involved as part of a shady deal to cook the books, and that we had not forced a player out against his will to do it.

I won't go on about how he is out of position as I've said for years for this is what he has been forced into, including his defensive duties but many here will note his ridiculously high footballing IQ, his passes when he isn't being cautious along with its placement, and their precision. Not to mention he is the best FK taker in the world.

Busquets is well and truly finished.

Our midfield standards are so low that even old Pjanic made a big impression

Pjanic based on his inherent ability is world class. He was performing in the Champions League for Lyon before even 20.

For Roma he was world class period, more so because coaches like Rudi Garcia knew how to actually play him (which isn't rocket science) and then his years under Allegri, bar maybe the last one.

Koeman is a boring coach but a smart one at the same time.

Odd that Pjanic is recovering balls given physically he has always been underwhelming so it'll be better for Barça should he play to his strengths for he isn't reliable completely, in defence.
