danyjr wrote:I don't think City need a major overhaul. They need a solid CB and possibly a LB. At LB you have Luke Shaw and Chelsea have Alonso so nothing to boast about at all. At CB you have Maguire ffs, I rather have Stones than that pleb.
Jesus is not shit, he is just very puny, a bit like Higuaín and needs to be pampered. Once he finds his rhythm he is one of EPL's most lethal strikers. Certainly more so than Abraham and Rashford. With Sané gone, City need a winger to replace him.
I am convinced Liverpool will run out of steam next season. No way you can play 'heavy metal football' season in season out. They might start next season well but slowly fatigue both mental and physical will creep in.
Is Stones even playing for them anymore. Last time I checked Everton and Arsenal were looking to buy him (if rumours are to be believed). Re: LB I only said if Chelsea get Chilwell or someone of that ilk, they will be a force next season. Right now yea their options are not so good. Either way your point that City's gonna walk the league when they have got clear weaknesses in certain positions, like LB for example, is simply not adding up, you know. They have lost 9 games this season. Thats more than us and even Arsenal. Its only because the rest of the league barring Liverpool are trash, they are comfortably placed 2nd.
And Jesus is better than Rashford? Well that would be a decent question for a poll here. Which one would you have rather as a neutral. A guy who single handedly carried our attack before his injury when no one else was there, no Pogba, no Mason no Bruno, who was even tipped to be worth a shout for top scorer in the league if not for his injury or a guy who cannot score on a consistent basis playing for a team that has got elite attacking midfielders behind him.
Also by midfield I was referring to holding midfielders or rather midfielders in the conventional sense of the term. Ofc they have got wc players in attacking midfield positions but what about the ones behind? They may be able to thrash small teams by playing Kdb in midfield and all but right now for city, one of their biggest problems as far as I have heard is the fact that when they play against biggish teams, they get no protection from the midfield. It was evident in the matches we played against them even this season.
Again these are things I have read from Bluemoon and City fans on twitter and all.

And btw even after spending trillions, City still needs some solids option at any particular position to challenge for Title what is wrong with you guys!!!
I hope City get banned for life from CL for breaking the transfer rules.

Rashford is pretty solid, but Jesus is a much better player then him.

No not according to a lot of their fans. He has no defensive awareness. That's the major criticism of Gundogan. May be he plays like that cos Pep wants him to play like that I dont know.
Anyway I am feeling its a stupid debate (especially after hearing the leak that City's punishment will be fully overturned ). They will once again throw money at their problems and fix them this transfer window and challenge for the league next season.

That may be true, he may have better ability, but switch the 2 players can you expect Jesus to do what Rashford did playing with the likes of Lingard and Pereira. Or better, can City and City fans be confident to go into a season with Jesus as their first choice center forward? I dont know you guys would still deny but in an important match, I know who I would pick if I have both in the squad.

the only problem with Jesus, which someone also pointed out earlier, is that he seems to be a confidence player.

I think Rashford has been surprisingly good this season, but I think a lot of people recognized that he had accomplished absolutely nothing when he demanded, and was given, a pay rise - and he still hasn't accomplished anything. He's performed well in spurts at a time, and deserves all the credit he gets when he does perform well, but if he's ever going to claim a spot among the elite strikers in the world, then he needs to show impact and consistency at a high level. His work rate is good, but his productivity has been hit or miss since he became a starter.

Re: 2019/2020 Premier League Discussion: Chapter IV
As a CF, I'd take Jesus over Rashford. Rashford's finishing is actually pretty hot and cold even when he is on form. He just doesn't have that conviction that a lethal striker should have. He doesn't have a poacher's instinct.
Another question mark over Rashford is where he should play. I argued that CF isn't where he'd be best at, so you'd have to move him to the side or the wings. He's also not a great winger, he has good skills but his deliveries are, again hot and cold.
I love Rashford and as a player to watch he's much more exciting than Jesus. But he's more of a jack of all trades master of none whereas you know with on-form Jesus you'll get goals week in week out.

Neither Rashford or Jesus are good enough for teams with top 4 ambitions in the PL. Not as a starter, anyway.

Norwich was a fun team to watch. Feel for them. Didnt park the bus and actually dared to play good attacking football. But yea now looking back, it probably was a naive thing to do. They should have been a bit more cautious at times. Prefer teams like them to boring shits like Burnley and West Ham any day. Anyway now that its settled, hopefully we will look at some bargains from that Norwich squad. Jamal Lewis for one looks decent. And I would have Todd Cantwell any day over trash like Lingard. Hopefully now, Bournemouth will survive even though it looks tough for them.

for all of the talk that Chelsea might contend next season, they need to fix their defense before they can actually do that lol. We've talked about Kepa, but im not even sure Rudiger and Christensen are that good.

Next game is big. Soton home. There have been instances where we have thrown away from situations like these in the past. So not confident. But if we win, I think we would make top 4 with just 3 games left after that. We will be above Chelsea who have Liverpool and Wolves to play. We have Leicester too as the last match so, who knows. Could go down to wire.

Liverpool is on a vacation stretch. Don't trust us with anything.

Actually, I’m changing my mind on this. He has two nibbles at him. These days, if you take the player down after first making contact with the ball, it’s a penalty. #LFC pic.twitter.com/nIyFrb0NTa

Penalty or not? He does just about touch the ball at the start of the tackle (Contact is minimal and doesn't change the trajectory of the ball) which for me means not a penalty.

i mean imagine the whining, crying and crawling for life like a beggar behavior from some of the opposition fans...in fact there have been so many close or unfair calls against Liverpool. But this team is truly amazing the way they have carried themselves this season till now.
