Son isn't the type of player and his reaction said it all. Looks like it was Aurier who injured him rather than son anyways. Horrific injury and best of luck to Gomes. He has suffered enough in his career. Hope he comes back soon

from being CL finalist to this I wonder who will take the advantage of the remaining CL spot vacated by Spurs.
I would put a random bid on Eriksen or Son and Klopps hug as a bonus in Jan window. We desperately need few more options to sustain the the title challenge till the end.

I think Son would fit in perfectly at Liverpool. Fast, technically adept, two-footed, big game player, excellent work ethic..he even speaks German better than he speaks English. Who would he replace, though?

There is no intent to injure.
It's just one of the risks you take in football.
Hope Gomes comes back, I've had a similar injury and it's not a quick process.

he can play wide or in the middle so we could rotate with him in the squad to give the front players much needed rest.Thimmy wrote:I think Son would fit in perfectly at Liverpool. no one, he would be a rotation player mostly coming off the bench

I feel like that would be a complete waste for Son, he's good enough to be a starter for a top club.

I just read that Gomes broke and dislocated his ankle, and will have surgery tomorrow.
It's the exact same injury that I got last year, I can't imagine him playing again this season but he should recover for next season.

I think Eriksen is angling for move to Real. Son would be great though. He can play right across our front-line and would be a great cover and competition for Mane, Salah & Firmino. But I'm pretty concerned about his fitness record.Helmer wrote:Kaladin wrote:Can we expect a Spurs exodus next summer?

Why would that be a waste. He won't play every match but he will still play many many games or enough games that it wont really matter.Kick wrote:El Gunner wrote:Thimmy wrote:I think Son would fit in perfectly at Liverpool. And Son has complete freedom to prove himself and play ahead of front 3. I can easily see him being a hit at Liverpool.

Re: 2019/2020 Premier League Discussion: Chapter II
^^true, and also it's not like he has always been a regular starter at Tottenham. Iirc, in the beginning he had to play his way into the team, and then he went through a magnificent stretch of form where he started week in week out, and then he got injured/or his performances dipped and then Poch started him from the bench again and made him prove himself again.
I see something similar that can work if he were to join Liverpool.

So at 27 he'd want to go through all of that again? When he could move to clubs like Bayern or Real and be a nailed-on starter?

He's a better winger than anything Bayern have and better than everyone at Real bar Hazard, who hasn't even been that good.

It may be a controversial opinion, but I think Son has always been quite significantly more of a consistent performer than Hazard. I have no doubts that he’d be a hit at Real Madrid, provided the transition in language and culture wouldn’t prevent him from adapting fast enough.

i disagree. I think he has the mentality and work ethic to contribute to a bigger club. Now perhaps it is true he might not be able to handle the shine of a big club like Madrid, i think he could make it at a Liverpool.

You’re easily the most hyperbolically/polarizingly opinionated person on this forum. This is the most nuanced post I’ve ever read from you

Re: 2019/2020 Premier League Discussion: Chapter II
It’s definitely Hans. Every individual I’ve seen him talk about has either been absolute shit to the point of him having to repeat it multiple times, or some kind of generational genius. I suppose I can see the humor or banter in it to some extent, but it’s just obnoxious at this point. Not worth taking seriously.
And before he tries to deflect this by claiming that I’m just being butthurt about Ole or something; whether it’s Zidane, Dembele, Klopp, Tuchel, Pogba.. whoever the flavor of the month is, it’s always «GOAT» or «incompetent, out».
