Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid
Team has pulled off great back to back to victories over Sevilla and Osasuna after the disaster in Paris. Those 2 results left us on top of the table. Now its time for another chapter of the Madrid derby and it is as important as ever.
Injuries/Suspenisons: reports indicate that Modric, Isco and Marcelo could be ready for the match but other than possibly Marcelo I do not see the other two playing. There are also no suspensions. I expect the line up to be:
Thibu
Carvajal Varane Ramos Nacho
James Casemiro Kroos
Bale Benzema Hazard
A win here puts us further away from Atletico and other teams on top of the table. Let's also hope Barca drop points as they have a tough match against Getafe. A draw would be unfavorable, but not damaging (if other results go our way)
Hala Madrid!

Why oh why did Mendy get injured? Sigh. Alas, this has a draw written all over it though a win would be wonderful as we can remind Atleti that their friendly win was greatly exaggerated.

Also, after 1 fking game, I rather Areola start over Conetois and I watched a full season of the former and never thought highly of him at all. But seeing how our defenders actually looked confident in him doing regular goalie things says way too much.

Courtois beware, if he continues to take cheap goals Zidane will start rotating, Courtois doesn't have a lot of protection at the club.

Most important game in this early season
We win here and we get tons of confidence, we lose and we're back to square one

On the contrary, he's more protected than Mark Zuckerberg during his power walk.
They sold Navas, who's a better goalkeeper, for him. And for some reason, he continues to start week in and week out even though he's leaking more goals than a leaking roof in a heavy rainstorm.
You don't have to worry about him riding the bench, he'll never be dropped.

we can beat them as we have a better team with better players but Atletico is a tricky team and will score for sure with against our shitty GK

Tibu the new scapegoat not like navas hasn't given up cheap goals, as long as the team protect him he can do the job, hopefully after watching areola he either steps up or hits the bench.
The team should be able to win this game, as long as they keep up the team work and not individuals.

Re: Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid
REAL MADRID SQUAD:
Goalkeepers: Courtois, Areola, Altube.
Defenders: Carvajal, Militão, Ramos, Varane, Nacho.
Midfielders: Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Valverde, James.
Forwards: Hazard, Benzema, Bale, Lucas Vázquez, Jović, Vinicius Jr.
Modric is back. Isco and Marcelo dont make it.
Hopefully Nacho puts on a great defensive shift today. If he does itll allow Hazard more freedom.

Valverde in midfield over James. ZZ going with a counter attacking team. Too bad it'll blow back in his face when Atleti scores from their first shot on target

Re: Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid
Fede playing as he’s our only midfielder that can run is good for me, especially for the first half
Like the lineup, with hopefully Hazard and Bale performing we will win

Re: Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid
For the time being, there's a perfect balance between the defense and attack, and Madrid is deservedly dominating the game. But we still lack some teeth in the final third. Only Bale and Carvajal's side is trying to break through the Atlético defense.
Hazard needs to wake the f up.

Re: Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid
Hazard has been atrocious much like the whole freaking season. If we needed an Asensio we wouldn't have gone for him.
He has been turning over the ball left, right and center. Ugh. Give me Vinicious please. Nacho is left all on his own of that left side
Casemiro and Kroos have been amazing

Re: Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid
Tactically, we can't do things better. This is the only way we can compete against top teams. I know people want us to attack more and throw caution to the wing somewhat. But:
- Courtois. Nuf said.
- Too many injuries. We lack depth and need to compensate.
- We very un-athletic in the midfield. So we can't transition well enough.
I'm satisfied. We're developing into the best possible version of this team. How much better can we get? depends on injuries and Hazard.

Re: Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid
My thoughts
Benzema is actually having a bad game. Not as a forward but in general. No idea why he chose today to be bad.
Nacho continuously loses Trippier despite him being basically right there.
Atleti has yet to actually have a shot on target but the Conetois stop at the end was legit good.
Valverde has done well today but I think it helps that the match itself is unnecessarily cagey.
Um, Bale and Hazard are neither here nor there and our defense has been solid minus...Varane. He also chose today to be sloppy.
