Re: So what now, should Valverde be fired?
Yeah, getting a hipster coach who bottled a 3-0 lead to Man United's U17 team and managed to bottle the French Cup final is the way to go for sure.
There are no coaches who are above Valverde's level bar Pep and Klopp and neither is available. Think about it. Most big names coaches are pretty much Valverde tier at most bar the 2 mentioned (and with Pep it's still not clear how much of a fraud he really is given that he did not make a single CL semi-final in 3 years with 1 billion Man City team).

I really wished you guys fired your 2 time Spanish double winning manager. The manager the players have zero issues with as far as we are aware of. Hate it when clubs don't listen to their fans ffs.

You know how it goes. 15 year old kiddies on Social Media and online forums know better than multi-million Euro professional with decades of experience.

This. Valverde is an underrated manager. I am not a fan of the style but I also realize that the style is being driven by the tactical limitations of having Messi.

Re: So what now, should Valverde be fired?
Personally, if he stays, I actually might expect us not to win anything next season, its just a feeling. Zidane is back, Copa we've amazingly won it like so many times in a row, and CL for obviously reasons I really would rather 'gamble' and have another manager, even if we do worst tbh, anything is better than watching us blow 3-0 leads in the CL ffs.

Tata Martino and Vilanova also won La Liga. This should not be a measure of anything.

Tata didn't win La Liga
He's truly the worst of the betas you've had at your team's helm.

He lost in the last fixture, though. had the same amount of points as the champion, only 3 pt difference so its just a technicality

Re: So what now, should Valverde be fired?
If CL titles are your (or in a broader sense, Barca fans') deciding factor for a successful season, then you guys have a lot of heartache to face and coaches to fire because the CL is never a given.
Also, Tata didn't win La Liga, about technicalities lol.

Re: So what now, should Valverde be fired?
Tata played Neymar on the right wing, employed Messi as a poacher and said Messi shouldn't touch the ball too much and had a famous game in the Copa against Real Sociedad where we had 48 crosses. He failed to beat Atletico on 6 different occasions. He also still had a Barca pretty much in its prime with Alves, Iniesta, Neymar etc. Even depth with Sanchez and Fabregas.
Whoever thinks Tata was a better manager than Valverde should go and ask his parents whether they are actually brother and sister because you would have to be a product of incest to hold this opinion (alternatively you started watching football yesterday, which is also possible of course but I think incest is more likely).
Tata is actually the only Barca coach who went completely trophyless (not even a tiny Mickey Mouse Cup victory) in the last God knows how many years.
Going out in the CL 4-4 against Roma or 3-4 against Liverpool while winning everything else with a heavily declining squad isn't even remotely compareable. The only think that makes it look bad is that we had big first leg leads. It shows that Valverde doesn't know how to set up to preserve a lead with this squad. He might have overestimated our defensive capablities. Apparently we can't defend for shit. Who would have guessed Messi and Suarez upfront and so many big name experienced players in midfield and defense can't keep out the opponent from scoring 3+ goals without scoring even 1 upfront?

Re: So what now, should Valverde be fired?
He chose to defend, this is his mistake. Maybe not a mistake, this is his way of playing football which doesnt suit Barcelona. His team was under pressure, scared and clueless.
The barcelona we used to see would go for the win and put a show. Valverde's team tries to be A.Madrid in big games. If they attacked from the first minute Liverpool would lose some of their confidence, but instead the team hinted that the tie is not over yet and we are very afraid to bottle it

Re: So what now, should Valverde be fired?
Attacking does not guarantee anything. City lost 1-5 to Liverpool last season by trying to attack them.
This team is way too slow and unathletic to attack. Imagine putting Busquets, Pique, Rakitic, Roberto, Lenglet 30 yards further forward. lol Would have probably already lost at home.

being 3-0 up at half time vs liverpool is the most dangerous score in football now everyone knows this.Kebab wrote:He chose to defend, this is his mistake. Maybe not a mistake, this is his way of playing football which doesnt suit Barcelona. His team was under pressure, scared and clueless.

Re: So what now, should Valverde be fired?
His days should be numbered. Two massive collapses at the end of the season. Even Wenger would have been proud of such a feat.
Re: So what now, should Valverde be fired?
Surely this must be the nail in the coffin for him and Coutinho.
My money is on the Betis coach, he was released from his contract last week

Re: So what now, should Valverde be fired?
He was released because he wasn't good. Hear it from someone who has watched Betis consistently this season. He's another small club manager like Valverde and provides no improvement over him.
Which makes it likely that Fartomeu would appoint him.

Re: So what now, should Valverde be fired?
Teams already know that you can score against barcelona and they are weak at defending. And slow in every area
Barca needs players who can run fast with the ball. If team had 5 malcoms instead of rakitic, arthur, busquets, roberto, coutinho valencia would get destroyed. Turtle players are the problem. Roma, liverpool took advantage exactly of this. Two slowest CB s in the world pique and lenglet, slowest DMs busquets, arthur and rakitic. Look how fast were Valencia players with the ball, if they had little bit brain and technique the score would be much bigger
Neymar, dembele, umititi, malcom these players should be target for starting XI next season. If they dont take lesson from this, then they will win nothing

Didn't think his side would have capitulated vs Valencia tbh. Oof. Yeah, this is definitely not good for him. At all...

Fart has come out and said it’s not EV’s fault and that the club is backing him up

Re: So what now, should Valverde be fired?
Yea pretty much as everyone said above lol, its depressing, but not surprising.
Valverde HAS TO GO, otherwise our era is definitely ended we can say already.
He deserves credit for last season when he plugged the holes and got the results after Neymar and everything. But time proved hes just that, not good enough enough to bring anything more new to inspire us anymore. Hes also shown too many weaknesses, and his faith with certain players and not others are too obvious for us fans to accept anymore.
Players wise, I have realised definitely we need fast players too, and not players who stop the ball and try to beat players, like Coutinho, and think of Ibra who was a classic example, top players, but just doesnt suit our style to beat opponents who always park at least 8-9 in and near their box to defend us.
Lets see our transfers in the summer, if say Valverde and Coutinho stays, and we sell the like of Malcolm, and fail to bring in a Suarez replacement, we are doomed.

Re: So what now, should Valverde be fired?
I think Barca are in the same position as us right now. It doesnt matter how many coaches you fire you'll still be bad. It's the squad that needs binning. All the old guards need to go, these poverty kids need to stay on the bench. You need fresh blood in key positions or whoever you have will keep failing

I was at a birthday party, did not even realize the Copa Final was yesterday. We lost? lol
If I was Valverde I would resign on my own, it's clearly not his fault but he'll get the hate of his life next season if he stays on. Resign, lean back and watch Setién play fantasy football with Pique, Lenglet, Busquets, Roberto, Coutinho, Dembélé.
