Some bullet points.

8 core AMD 7nm Zen 2 based on third generation Ryzen
Ray-tracing support with custom AMD Navi GPU
Custom AMD unit for 3D Audio, also aided by ray-tracing, a big upgrade
Extremely fast high-end custom SSD storage faster than any solution currently available for PC
Technically supports 8K but Cerny demoed Spider-Man load speed improvements (15s -> 0.8s) on a 4K screen
New Virtual Reality platform strongly hinted at but also supports current PSVR
Physical Media
Backwards Compatible with at least PS4
Four years in development so far

That's seriously impressive. I mean that's a massive jump from this generation to the next one.

Also heard that Death Stranding might be the first cross generational game.

Honestly i expect a lot of games will be cross generation, i would be surprised if TLOU isn't on both for example.

Not buying it straight away like I did PS4 considering the highlights of the first 1.5 years on PS4 were Watch Dogs and Infamous Second Son ffs

not buying it for any launch games that will be on PS4 also and since most of their big studios have put stuff out recently or soon to be released I don't expect any big PS5 exclusives until like 2022

Already said it is in the article I've posted, it's the reason I'm likely day 1 tbh.

Even if there isn't must have exclusives the backwards compat means i can play PS4 games, i suspect Cyberpunk will be out before the PS5 so worst case scenario i can just replay that tbh.

This is stupid who is going to pay over $500 for a console. Even more so with an expected economic downturn this year going into next year.

The developers for this are going to get done the same way the WSC team did if there isnt a bunch of exclusives relatively quick to get people invested.

500 is a steep hill though. Especially if the economy goes through a downturn. It will be pretty close to that if it isnt 500$ with those specs.

Yh but like i said we don't know for the price will be.

Also it's expected at this point, if the specs are better the price will be higher.

PS4 had a lower entry point but reality is it was already out dated before it was already released which made the pro versions inevitable.

I don't think the price will be that high a barrier to entry tbh but i guess we'll see.

The PS4 was very weak spec wise, but it made up for it in many ways with a really awesome(from a distance...I cant get anyone to actually sell me one) dev-kit. It looked to be very intuitive compared the shitshow which was whatever the PS3 kit was and an amazing price point.

I guess what i mean is how many people will buy it on release at 400 compared to 500? Is it really such a big discrepancy that if they did it they'd massively regret it ? I suspect not really.

Ps3 yeah but i think we can all agree that was way too much, if it's higher than 500 than i think they will making a big mistake.

Its never a nice solid number though.

Psychologically theres a big step between spending 399 and 499 on a device even if the extra 100 doesnt break the bank. Like....thats half a grand Laughing

It may not be a biggie, but I think it will hit.

I have a feeling TLOU2 will follow death stranding as a cross generational title.

Too big of an opportunity to not do it for Sony.

Yea i doubt either are releasing in 2019 for that reason.

However, both ps3 and ps4 were released in November. But Cerny is saying not to expect in 2019. So it means they have no set month to release it in

I won't be surprised if we see this around Feb/March. December if we are lucky?

PS5 will be September to November 2020 time, they'll want to bundle it with Sports games as per usual.

I suspect TLOU will be a few months before on PS4 and launch on PS5.

Nah i don't think it's THAT far. They won't release the details if it's more than a year away.

There is not much money in releasing it on PS4 and then wait for months before releasing it on PS5. bit like TLOU remastered since everyone played it on PS3 anyways.

Let's see either way
