Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Aside from Florence Pugh who's always great, Jack Reynor really nailed his role. He felt like so many dudes I know. A complete and utter dickhead. And he made it work without being cartoony.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Thought it was Chris Pratt half the time lmao.
But yea, that Sweden conversation he had with Danny...man he was such a prick and both of their characters looked so natural. But the thing is, he wasn't really shown as a bad guy because it's something millions do it with their partners. He was just shown as a normal guy.

In the spirit of Once Upon A Time in Hollywood releasing soon, we need to have a serious debate over whether Kill Bill Vol. 1 deserves to be named Tarantino's best film over Pulp Fiction.
I'll try to rewatch both before Hollywood drops.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Was a bit disappointed by Midsommar tbh. I mean still masterful directing from Aster, but it didn't quite have the unpredictability and and edge of the seat suspense as Hereditary which made the wtf moments hit harder.

Only seen one or two of them. Couldn't care less about a single Marvel film tbh. I'm not going to hate on them like some people do, but they're not really my cup of tea.

Going to see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood on Tuesday, hyped
My brother saw it and said it was good but nothing too amazing which has me a bit down, but we'll see.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
^^probably the industry-attached critics.
My trusted sources say that it may be a bit floundering at points, and Brad Pitt is the real standout performer.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Read the same about Brad Pitt. Many calling for an oscar already for him lol.
It's releasing in like mid august here so can't go till then. Heard it's nearly 3 hours as well.
Is Editing Tarantino's worst quality?

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Inglorious Basterda got a 69 metascore. Same with Kill Bill 1.
He’s not exactly always a critical darling.
Editing is always great in his films. At least it used to be until his first editor died. It’s hard to build that chemistry up again right away.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
I loved it. It is a slow burn, the whole movie gradually builds up to the third act where things explode in the most Tarantino way possible. Its hilarious and bloody. Brad Pitt is indeed excellent, DiCaprio is great too in a more understated performance. One thing I would say is to get yourself familiar with the Manson family and their murders. Knowledge of the incident will enhance the film and I see viewers who don't know their history being lost on the movie.
