Lyon owned Man City in both games this year... they are young but really talented. Their issue is that they aren't consistently good. They get up for certain games. The culprits? Depay isn't consistent and has a bad attitude, Moussa Dembele hasn't adapted yet and Fekir as injured for most of the first half of the season.

With Fekir back and playing better + Dembele settling in, they're better.

Not a big fan of Genesio either.

Regarding PSG... No Neymar. No Verratti. They literally have no creativity or ball control in the midfield without those two.

Paris without Neymar lack creativity, verratti is useless.

They run all of their game through Merman when he is there, and when he isn't it's harder for them to create offensively without Mbappe running into space

PSG won't sell. He has 3 years left after this one on his contract. I can see him staying in Paris for another 1-2 years until PSG are forced to sell.

Neymar isn't going anywhere either if you must ask. PSG just signed a jersey sponsorship deal for 50+ mil euros per season so FFP is no longer a concern (ACCOR Hotel Group).

I was being sarcastic. Him and Neymar are off limits.

I was just commenting on the numbers he has been putting this season. They are really impressive, and he's only 20 which is even more impressive.

Ah lol. I can't tell on GL anymore. He's special. Has the "it" factor to go along with talent... I don't like that PSG are force to play him so much. He's literally playing every minute of every game. But what else are they gonna do.

Interesting part is that there's no creativity in the midfield and everyone knows that Mbappe is the only true scoring threat... yet he's still doing it.

He's going to get 40+ goals this season unless he gets injured (currently 27 goals and 12 assists). He could very conceivably get 40 goals and 20 assists. For a guy who started the season at 19 years old, that's just ridiculous.

A fraud you say? Surely that's a bit harsh. What expectation did you have? This is a player that went straight from Schalke to PSG, only ~one season as starter in BuLi under his belt and noone ever considered him more than an interesting prospect yet.
How old is he? 20 or so? Very young for a defender.

The crazy thing is that PSG is actually the third most profitable club in Ligue 1 even when you take all Qatari sponsorship out of the picture. Monaco is tops of course with Lyon second. But that's because the two clubs in front of PSG sell their best players.

Marseille is least profitable lol.

profitability in this context is a not a good metric though, we all know Monaco is making money from transfers, and lyon is in a similar situation.

If we look at money spent on transfers, which is actually a way better metric to measure how much a club is investing on success, then PSG again is faaaaaaar ahead.

I gave up sometime in February. Not only is the league a farce and a half, the football the "top" other teams play range from fking garbage to Lyon. I accept all responsibilities for the non bias updates of Ligue 1. Would do better...next season.
