Re: Misc. Predictions for the upcoming season
Some fanbases just hype the F out of any and every youth that comes to them.
literally..you can rattle off half a dozen from Juventus especially the last 4-5 seasons alone
Coman? Keane? Rugani? Lemina? Bentacur and more
PL fanbases generally seem a lot less prone to exaggeration with their youth..probably because we never give them a chance to play meaningful minutes and we know that
Madrid fanbase seem to do the same too tbh, and I'm not talking about GL strictly..in general
I'm not entirely sure why it happens, but eh

Much better to hype up 87 year old failed wingers turned left backs like Ashley Young while they lead you to the treble of sadness and finishing 17 points behind the bald fraud in the league

tbf to Ashley Youncelo, it's not hype if he's actually delivering week to week
trust me I'd rather not be in the position of lavishing praise on that numpty
which is a good point actually, after his performance on Friday I'm hoping Shaw can finally start going hard for Manchester United and not Mcdonalds
but i'm expecting Mou to bench him as soon as Young's fully rested

Re: Misc. Predictions for the upcoming season
Something not exactly valid for Liverpool since Rodgers came. We have to follow the academy as both Rodgers and Klopp can field academy players randomly as solutions.
But it's the case in PL, there is no "Best 11", for each team's it's 'best 6-7' max, the rest are a bunch of scrubs who will always cost you points so it doesn't matter. Whereas in Seriously Zzz and Bundesfodder, they have 17-18 players who can compete and do the job.

Re: Misc. Predictions for the upcoming season
My predictions:
City to win the PL comfortably.
United and Arsenal to both miss out on CL places.
Liverpol finish 4th again.
Real to finish 3rd.
Ronaldo will score less than 20 goals this season.
Mourinho to punch Sarri and Sarri burning Mourinho's hair from his lighter, both getting banned for the rest of the season.
Barcelona will win the CL.
We won't talk about Bayern until February in GL when they win the league.
Fulham to get relegated.

I hate hyping of youth players in general tbh. 95% of youth players turn up to be nothing.
Until I see you performing in a top league for at least a season you're a fraud imo.

Re: Misc. Predictions for the upcoming season
Yanited to win the league with the Rash and Martial having breakthrough seasons ala CR / Rooney in 06-07
Juve to win Serie Z and CR having his worst GS season to date.
Barca to win the treble as they finally found their new Brazilian version of Xaviesta in Coutinho and Arturo. That's if they get past the QF, they will beat the master finalists Juve now with the master finalist CR in their team. Flopped in 3 of 4 finals that Ronaldo guy, such a match with JJuve
City to get destroyed by Barca in the SFs and flop in the league
Higs to take Milan to CL places
Neymar to win the league with PSG but to leave at the end of the season because the spotlight is on Kylian. I expect a move to Italy / China

And i (very) rarely hype youth players btw, much to the point that i despise youth level football
So that accusation on me isnt valid imo

I said fanbases in general online
didn't mention any names
I know you Juve lads on GL are humble, honest and certainly not prone to hyping random youth scrubs and ending up with pie on your face
and I certainly couldn't find a few dozen examples if I spent 5 minutes looking

Nothing wrong in hyping 1 or 2 players every now and then even if they dont turn out as expected
This is atleast better than periodically hyping your whole team only to end up getting twatted when it matters most by numpty sides
inb4iwasntserious convenient excuse

Re: Misc. Predictions for the upcoming season
I think it depends on how much hype you give them but you also have to check the source. There will always be a few numpties saying Lemina is the new Pogba, Rugani the next Chiellini, I don't consider those representative of how a fanbase feels
It's more kneejerk reacting than anything, which is the GL norm after all
Young players tend to excite more because they usually come from relative anonymity
It's basically like saying don't be excited, one @mole is enough.

Hyping prospects is awesome. Most of the time, it never works out but those rare moment it does, you get to tell a fool "I told you so".

I love hyping young players. It started with Jay Spearing whom I thought would become the next Javier Mascherano . Those were the days.

Casciavit wrote:-Salah will break the PL goal record again
-Lopetegui will get sacked
-Coutinho will score 20+ goals
-Mendy will finish with 10+ assists
-KDB will break the PL assist record
-Same league winners as last year (Barca, City, Juve, Bayern, PSG)
-Atletico will win the CL
-Bayern will get knocked out of the CL in the R16
-Commandant Pogba and Mou will have a big bust up which will see the dressing room turn against Mourinho and get him fired. United will replace him with...Zidane.
-Chelsea gonna be 2007-2012 Arsenal...all style no substance
-Betis will finish 4th
-Odegaard will have a breakout season for whichever team he joins
-Carlo to ruin all of Sarri's good work and underwhelm with Napoli
-Ederson/Alisson will assist a goal from a goalkick
-PSG will be the highest scoring team in the world
-Higuain to score less than 15 league goals
Not bad.
Got the Mou sack right but Zidane didn't get hired. Mendy and KDB were injured all season, but I'm sure Mendy would've had +10 assists he had 5 in his first 6 PL games.
Carlo ruining Sarri's good work is open to interpretation. They still finished second but they underwhelmed compared to last season. Chelsea being like Arsenal is also open to interpretation but that was more targetted towards them not winning anything major, but I'll give them the EL.
Took the clear L's on:
Salah breaking PL record (still topscorer), Coutinho 20 goals LOL, Atleti winning the CL smh, and Betis finishing 4th aka another L for hipster FC.

Got this, Suprised Arsenal let it go after Chelsea being quite hopeless
Liverpol finish 4th again.
Oops
Real to finish 3rd.
Bullseye, not even suprised, they called me delusional when I said that we would have matched them if Karius did'nt screw up and the teams were equal
Ronaldo will score less than 20 goals this season.
Scored 28, accept it
Mourinho to punch Sarri and Sarri burning Mourinho's hair from his lighter, both getting banned for the rest of the season.
Barcelona will win the CL.
We knocked them out lmao
We won't talk about Bayern until February in GL when they win the league.
Went to the last day
Fulham to get relegated.
easy @urbanroots
Ending it with calling Real out, guys thanks for all the LFC support but it was evident that you'd not be upto the mark this season.

I see that loss still has some level of botherments in Pool fans' souls (trust me, it really still bothers a good bunch of Pool fans) and I would like to say: it good, next time, bring a better team to face us. May it continue to be a bother for the rest of your lives.
