I liked Shazam a lot. Easily my favorite DC movie. Got dark and lighthearted exactly when it needed it to be. Great performances all around.

Re: The Official Comicbook Movies Thread: Part 3

This one hurts.
Seriously can’t believe you think the humour in Shazam was forced though. I think it was the most natural humour in all the comic book films as of late. The humour was a natural biproduct of the plot and characters.
Also loved how the tone was very unique. It was a very 80s Amblin film tone. In the vein of Goonies, Grenlins etc.
Don’t think it was trying to copy MCU humour at all, as they weren’t really doing the Joss Whedon quippy humour.
If it reminded of something it was probably Ant-Man 2’s humour. My fave superhero movie from last year also.

Jack Dylan Grazer is a legit huge upcoming star. Believed it after I saw It. And after Shazam he cemented it.

You thought Aquaman was bland?
That’s the last thing I’d call it. Thought it was colourful and bananas.
Understand why some people wouldn’t like it though. Personally loved it for giving me an 80s movie with superheroes.

Visually? Nope. Very colorful and immersive.
Plot-wise? Quite bland.

Any theories?
I just hope they don't kill Thanos. Would be the worst decision ever.
I wonder if they will kill any avengers or just retire them.

I think at least 1 will die. Maybe 2. Doubt Thanos has a place after this so him dying makes sense. He's already the big villain of this whole saga.
I'd say Captain America is dying in this one.

There’s nothing.
Just came back.
It’s my favourite MCU film pretty clearly. It was so emotional.
Thor is incredible in this one. Finally a superhero with my body type.
Guardians 3 is most anticipated film after having seen this one.

This one is less about Thanos and more about the heroes.
Watch Infinity War before going so it feels like you aren’t missing a Thanos storyline because there’s really not much of him compared to the first.

I suppose that is good enough too.
Wonder why they didn't have a post credit scene.
Are there good twists and turns you don't see coming?
