Modric should be top 3. Other? most likely Messi for formality since it's Messi. No chance they have him outside top 3.

If this happened during Mbappè's Monaco season then sure.

Griezmann had a terrific 2nd half of the season(the period that counts) and won his team an EL.

Also they'll look at his world cup stats(4 goals and 2 assists) and conclude he had a great world cup

If anything, he's the strongest candidate from France NT to win it especially if he starts off the season well

Only reason this is even a discussion is the Roma farce, before that game he was arguably the favourite.

i dont know where to post this but i love how the succession of Messi and CR has now completely skipped Neymar and went to Mbappe it's a great storyline isnt it?

Mbappe showed up massively at the WC but the same will happen to him if he doesn't consistently perform in the CL.

Yeah Messi was the best player in the domestic leagues this season, but the Roma debacle holds him back + lack of memorable WC (not his fault though).

Mbappe and Neymar play in the same league lol, let's not forget that. I get how much exposure the world cup can offer you, but Mbappe was playing in a much easier context than Neymar being the face of a country with all the pressure on his shoulder. We saw a final today with Mbappe not even touching the ball in the first half, he can afford to hide and pick his moment when he is perfectly launched on counter to make the difference.

anyway, in September, Neymar will be back pulverizing ligue 1 again with Mbappe as a sidekick. people have short memories.

Griezmann had a meh 1st half of the season. As soon as Costa came to Atletico, he went back his lovely self and topped it off by having a lovely WC campaign. All in all, not meh at all. Not sure about Mbappe, didn't particularly watch a lot of PSG like I did with Atleti.
