How did he remain without a club?

I'm 100% sure he would have been a better signing for Real Madrid rather than Kepa.

Now after a year without football, prospects are not looking promising I guess.

Once he lowers his wage demands there will be plenty of LaLiga clubs lining up to sign him. One day it'll hit him that no team with money will want to pay him what he thinks he deserves so he'll remain without a club until reality starts kicking in.

Both Kepa and DDG are terrible. We wasted nearly half a season with Kepa. Glad we didn't sign DDG

De Gea is not terrible for sure.

So it is his wage demands. It would have probably been better to play for a smaller wage rather than sit on his ass for free, but ok. He's already rich I guess, so money is not a big motivator.
